CLARION, Pa. — Bloomsburg wrestling earned three individual victories and battled through several tightly contested bouts, but ultimately fell to Clarion, 29–11, in MAC dual action on Thursday evening.

The Huskies generated their biggest momentum swing at 165 pounds behind a statement performance from Braidon Woodward (Canisto-Greenwood, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon). After a scoreless first period other than a penalty point for Sawyer Ayotte marked by heavy hand fighting and position battles, Ayotte chose bottom to open the second and Woodward worked a four-count near fall to take a 4-1 lead. In the third period, Woodward chose bottom and earned a quick escape and take down to push his lead to 8-1. After building substantial riding time, Woodward put an exclamation point on the match with a pin at 6:46 to give the Huskies six team points.

Bloomsburg continued its push at 174 pounds as Eric Alderfer (Harleysville, Pa./Faith Christian) turned in a composed, positional win over Gabe Lilly. Alderfer struck first with an escape and a take down in the second period. Gaby Lilly chose neutral to start the final period but shut down any late offense to secure a 4-0 decision.

At 197 pounds, Wyatt Bush (Grundy, Va./Grundy) delivered another key victory in one of the closest bouts of the dual. Bush scored the bout's lone take down in the first period and defended effectively from bottom in the second. After surrendering an escape in the third, Bush closed out the match with strong defense in the final seconds to earn a 3-2 decision.

Bloomsburg was also locked in several one-score matches. At 157 pounds, William Morrow (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) and Wesley Barnes traded escapes through the second and third periods in a scoreless bout. Barnes broke the tie with a take down late in the third, and Morrow answered with an escape before time expired, but could not generate a final scoring opportunity in a 4-2 decision.

At 125 pounds, Jace Schafer (Fairport, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) raced out to an early lead against Travis Clawson with a quick take down and a four-count near fall for a 7-0 lead. Clawson earned a two-point reversal before the end of the first to cut the lead to 7-2. After two stall warnings against Schafer,  Clawson was awarded a penalty point to cut into the lead further, 7-3. The Golden Eagle chose bottom to start the third and earned an escape point before getting a take down, three-count near fall and the riding time point for the 11-7 comeback victory.

Cael Raines (North Chille, N.Y./Churchville-Chille) competed through all three periods at 149 pounds in an 11–3 major decision loss, and Richie Woods (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) battled through a physical match at 141 pounds despite dropping a 13-3 major decision.

Bloomsburg closed the dual at heavyweight, where Mason Rebuck (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) battled through the opening exchanges before falling at 4:22.
