LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's track and field team delivered a strong weekend of performances at the Bison Challenge and Multi, hosted by Bucknell, highlighted by multiple podium finishes, event victories, and PSAC-qualifying marks across the track, field, and relays.
Bloomsburg claimed two event wins on the track, led by junior Alexis Tepper, who captured first place in the mile with a time of 5:03.65, a PSAC qualifying time. Tepper also anchored the Huskies' distance relays, contributing to a second-place finish for Bloomsburg's "A" squad in the distance medley relay (12:25.44) alongside
Cori McCormick (Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill), Madeline Ikeler, and
Ashlyn Albright (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita). Tepper later ran a leg on the 4x400 relay that finished seventh overall in 4:28.94.
The Huskies' distance group continued to impress as freshman
Olivia Magagna (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) finished runner-up in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 10:04.20, a PSAC qualifying time and a season-best. Senior
Amanda Kelly (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) added a top-five finish in the 5,000 meters, placing fifth with a time of 18:21.92 (PSAC Q). Junior
Sydney Werner (Reading, Pa./Conrad Weiser) recorded two top-15 finishes on the weekend, placing 13th in the 800 meters (2:25.93) and sixth in the mile (5:19.77), while junior
Cori McCormick (Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill) placed fifth in the mile at 5:19.63.
In the middle distances, Bloomsburg placed multiple athletes inside the top 15 of the 800 meters, including
Ashlyn Albright (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita), who finished 15th with a time of 2:27.11.
Lauren Donahue (Red Hill, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) posted a PSAC-qualifying performance in the 1,000 meters, placing 10th with a time of 3:28.21, while freshman
Maura Kelly (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) followed closely behind in 11th at 3:37.20.
On the sprint side, freshman
Kendra Stout (/) led the way with a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking 26.26, and an eighth-place finish in the 400 meters at 1:00.44. Stout also placed 10th in the 60-meter preliminaries with a time of 8.14. Sophomore
Abby Parise (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) reached the finals in the 60-meter hurdles, placing sixth overall with a time of 9.05 (PSAC Q).
Parise also headlined the field events with a victory in the long jump, winning the event with a mark of 5.62 meters (18-5.25) to earn a PSAC-qualifying mark. She was joined in the top four by senior
Devin Hubler (Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area), who placed second at 5.49 meters (18-0.25) (PSAC qualifier and season-best), and sophomore
Aria Messner (Avoca, Pa./Pittston Area), who finished fourth with a jump of 5.38 meters (17-8) (PSAC qualifier and season-best). Hubler added another top-five finish in the triple jump, placing fifth with a mark of 10.78 meters (35-4.5), while sophomore
Lindsey Pelaez (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) finished 10th in the event at 10.43 meters (34-2.75).
In the vertical jumps, Messner continued her strong weekend by placing second in the high jump, clearing 1.54 meters (5-0.5).
Bloomsburg's throwing group delivered a series of top-15 performances, highlighted by multiple PSAC qualifiers. Junior
Grace Lippincott (State College, Pa./State College Area) led the Huskies in the weight throw, finishing fifth with a mark of 15.05 meters (49-4.5) (PSAC qualifier). Sophomore
Julia Beccari (Lake Ronkonkoma, Pa./Sachem North) placed eighth in the same event at 14.24 meters (46-8.75) (PSAC qualifier and season-best), while freshman
Annissah Magloire (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg Senior) finished 12th at 13.16 meters and sophomore
Sarah Trimble (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford Area) placed 13th with a mark of 12.99 meters. In the shot put, sophomore
Mikaela Sullivan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) recorded a sixth-place finish with a throw of 11.96 meters, while freshman
Laura Dunn (/) placed 13th at 11.17 meters and Beccari finished 14th with a mark of 10.97 meters.
Bloomsburg closed the meet with two relay teams inside the top 15, highlighted by the second-place finish in the distance medley relay and a seventh-place showing in the 4x400 relay.
The Huskies get back to work next weekend as the team will split time between the Fastrack National Invite in Staten Island, N.Y. and the Blue and Orange Invite at Utica.
