YORK, Pa. — The Bloomsburg women's swimming team capped the 2026 PSAC Championships with a runner-up relay finish and multiple A-final performances Saturday night to secure a third-place team finish with 1,014.5 points. West Chester won the team title with 1,342 points, followed by Indiana (Pa.) with 1,106.5.
The evening began with the 1650-yard freestyle. Freshman
Saryn McCullough (Newark, De./Newark Charter) led the Huskies with a seventh-place finish in 17:48.64, maintaining consistent 32-second splits over the middle portion of the race to score in the top eight. Junior
Ella Dittmar (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) placed 13th in 18:07.43, and freshman
Kaia Griffith (Pottstown, Pa./Spring-Ford) added a 21st-place finish in 18:48.60.
Bloomsburg made a major impact in the 100 freestyle. Junior
Morgan Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) dropped more than half a second from her prelim swim of 51.42 to finish second in 50.89 in the A final. Senior
Rachel Cunningham (Hanover, Pa./South Western) also improved from 51.26 in prelims to 50.97 in finals, placing third and giving the Huskies two swimmers on the podium. In the B final,
Samantha Linsey (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) trimmed her prelim time from 53.28 to 52.96 to take 12th, while Sid Beers finished 16th in 53.37.
Junior
Grace McBlain (Aldan, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) delivered one of the biggest time drops of the night in the 200 backstroke. After qualifying fourth in 2:07.38, she shaved nearly three seconds to post a 2:04.61 and remain fourth overall in the A final. Freshman
Maddie Fletcher (Wrightstown, N.J./Northern Burlington County) improved from 2:11.75 in prelims to 2:08.89 in finals to finish 13th, while junior
Sarah Pickel (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) placed 23rd in 2:13.74.
In the 200 breaststroke, senior
Vanesa Valli (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) advanced to the A final and cut nearly two seconds from her prelim time (2:24.94) to finish seventh in 2:22.99. Freshman
Morgan Keefer (Lewisberry, Pa./Northern York) dropped from 2:27.44 to 2:27.17 to place 13th in the B final. Dittmar finished 16th in 2:28.64, and senior
Taleah Ruben (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) took 19th in 2:28.00.
Bloomsburg closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Holmes (50.93), Beers (52.84), Linsey (52.38), and Cunningham (50.84) combined for a 3:26.99, narrowly behind Edinboro and ahead of West Chester to secure the Huskies' final points of the championships.
With two podium finishes in the 100 freestyle, a major backstroke time drop, and a runner-up relay performance, Bloomsburg finished third overall in one of the program's strongest conference showings in recent seasons.
