LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - After helping the Bloomsburg women's soccer team to a 2-0 week in conference action, senior defender Daryn Savage (Bensalem, Pa./Archbishop Wood) is the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Savage started both contests for the Huskies last week, playing all 180 minutes to help the team pick up six critical points in the conference standings. The week began Wednesday as Bloomsburg rolled to a 4-1 win on the road over Mansfield before the Huskies pulled off a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory at Shippensburg.

In the match against the Raiders, Savage recorded a career-high three assists, setting up all three goal-scoring efforts to help Bloomsburg overcome a halftime deficit. The three assists are tied for the second most in a match in program history, and Savage is the third Husky player since 2011 to have three assists in one contest. The senior is the only player in the PSAC this season to have three assists in a match and the only defender among 11 Division II athletes.

Savage's recognition marks consecutive weeks of distinction for the center of the Bloomsburg defense, joining Cassi Snyder (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) with weekly honors from the conference. It is the second Defensive Athlete of the Week award for Savage in her career.

The Huskies return to Steph Pettit Stadium for a match on Wednesday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. to take on East Stroudsburg.
