Box Score BOX SCORE

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team (3-1) won their third game in a row, beating Lock Haven (0-2) 82-50.  BU's 32 point win is the largest margin of victory the Huskies have had against a PSAC team since the 1994-95 season when Bloomsburg beat Kutztown, 100-59.  In today's game, Bloomsburg forced 24 turnovers and out-rebounded the Bald Eagles, 44-27.

Lock Haven trailed for the majority of the first half aside from a one point lead at the 6:43 mark.  Less than 30 seconds later, BU's Ed Hall (Washington, DC/Paint Branch) knocked down a jumper to take back the one point lead, 23-22.  The Huskies would go on to close out the half on a 14-5 scoring run.  Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) and Mike Varanavage (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) scored five and four points respectively during the BU run.

Credit Bloomsburg's effort on the boards, in the paint, and defensive pressure for the 37-27 first half lead.  The Huskies collected 24 rebounds to Lock Haven's 10 which led to 11 second chance points, 18 points in the paint, and scored 15 points off turnovers.

The Huskies opened the first 8:35 of the second half with a 29-5 run, bringing the score to 66-33.  Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) and Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) set the tone on offense during the run, combining for 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting and a 3-4 mark from beyond the arc.

Nasir Jones (Philadelphia/Franklin Learning Center) ended the game with an exclamation point as he threw down a two-handed dunk for Bloomsburg's final points in an 82-50 win.

BU's Jordan led all scorers with 21 points while making four steals and rejecting one shot.  Christmas was 6-8 from the field and 3-5 from three point range, totaling 16 points on the day.

Larry Webster (Hagerstown, MD/Elkton) III was one point way from a double-double with nine points and 11 boards while fellow big-guy Ed Hall (Washington, DC/Paint Branch) recorded nine points and eight rebounds.  Senior Trevon Johnson (Snow Hill, MD/Snow Hill) scored four points and dished out seven assists, one away from a career high.

For the Bald Eagles, Terrell Johnson and Anthony Baker led the team with 11 points each while Jace Keller added another 10.

The Huskies will have a quick turnaround as the host they Fighting Scots of Edinboro tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. at the Nelson Field House in Bloomsburg, PA.
