BLOOMSBURG—Having trailed by as many as 22 points in the game, the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team mounted a spectacular rally to defeat East Stroudsburg University, 81-80 in overtime, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action Thursday at Nelson Field House.

Originally scheduled for Wednesday, the game was rescheduled to Thursday following heavy snow and ice that fell across the state.

The Huskies fell into a hole early, as the Warriors jumped out to a 14-7 lead six minutes into the game. After a four-minute scoring drought for BU, East Stroudsburg led 22-7. With two minutes in the half, the Maroon and Gold trailed by 18, and ESU held a 41-25 advantage at halftime.

The second half began with the Warriors taking a 20-point lead, 45-25, less than one minute into the period. Bloomsburg managed to stop the bleeding and cut the score to 47-34 before East Stroudsburg broke out to its largest lead at 22-points, 62-40, with 11 minutes and change to play.

With under nine minutes to play, East Stroudsburg still led by 17, 66-49, but Bloomsburg was not ready to quit. The Huskies went on an 11-0 run, fueled by a dunk from Larry Webster (Hagerstown, MD/Elkton) III followed by four-straight points by Trevon Johnson (Snow Hill, MD/Snow Hill). Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) capped the scoring run with a layup as the Huskies trailed by only six, 66-60, with four minutes remaining.

After three points by East Stroudsburg, Bloomsburg responded with a layup from Johnson and proceeded to force six turnovers from the Warriors without allowing an ESU shot attempt. An acrobatic Webster dunk narrowed the lead to one, 69-68, with just over a minute to play.

At the other end, Blair Ramsey calmly made a pair of free-throws to make it a three-point game, 71-68. On the Huskies' next possession, Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) drained a three-pointer to tie the game for the first time since the opening tip. Christmas had a last-second shot to try to clinch the game but missed the mark, forcing overtime with the scored tied 71-71.

Overtime featured three lead changes and two ties, but it was Webster who proved to be the star player of the period. The junior scored six points on 3 for 4 shooting from the field, including a dramatic tip-in off a missed layup with less than five ticks on the clock. In the end, Bloomsburg's comeback proved worthwhile, as BU came away with the 81-80 overtime victory.

Webster and Jordan scored a team-high 21 points each, and both notched double-doubles, as Jordan tallied a game-high 15 rebounds, while Webster followed with 14. Johnson recorded 18 points on the day for the Huskies. Jordan, Christmas, and Jesse Betar (Altoona/Altoona) each had a team-high four assists, and Jordan had another game-high with four steals.

ESU's Duane Johnson led all players with 25 points, while Terrance King had a successful game under the basket with 11 rebounds. Micah Covert added 11 points for the Warriors.

With the win, Bloomsburg improves to 8-11 overall and 4-3 in the PSAC East, while East Stroudsburg drops to 10-9 and 3-4 in the league.

Bloomsburg kicks off the second half of its East Division schedule on the road at Millersville on Saturday, February 5. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
