MEET RESULTS
SHIPPENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's swim team posted a 115-90 win over Shippensburg University on Tuesday in the season opener for the Huskies. It is the Huskies first win at Shippensburg since the 1976-77 season.
The Huskies trailed until the 100-backstroke. In the 100-back the Huskies went one, four and five to out score the Raiders 14-5 in that event to tie the meet and then went on to finish strong to earn the win.
Bloomsburg's top swimmer was
Brandon Sherbo (Etters/Red Land) who took first in the 1000-free in 10:13.25, the 10th best mark in school history, and also the 500-free in 4:57.74. Also taking first in the 100-free was
Bryan Masilotti (Vineland, N.J./Vineland) in 48.57, while in the 100-breast
Jake Harner (Philadelphia/Father Judge) was first in 59.85 with
Nick Angeny (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) first in the 100-back in 55.10 seconds.
Finishing second for the Huskies in the 200-free was
Alex Otero (Allentown/Parkland) in 1:51.02, while in the 50-free
Bill Urban (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) was second in 22.40 seconds. In the 200-IM
Jeremy Frey (Pipersville/Central Bucks East) was second in 2:04.35, while in the 100-fly
Mark DiLemmo (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) was second in 55.28.
The Huskies had nine swimmers qualify for PSAC's on their first chance of the season.
Bloomsburg will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. against West Chester.
