YORK, Pa. — The Bloomsburg men's swimming team closed the 2026 PSAC Championships with a conference title in the 400 freestyle relay and a dominant showing in the 100 freestyle to finish third overall with 477 team points. West Chester claimed the team title with 1,050 points, followed by Gannon with 529.
Senior
Michael Huegel (Springfield, Pa./Spriingfield) led Bloomsburg in the 1650 freestyle, placing 13th in 16:41.75, maintaining consistent 30-second splits throughout the middle stages of the race. Freshman
Max McCloskey (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) added a 16th-place finish in 16:52.34.
The Huskies then dominated the 100 freestyle A final with three top-five finishes. Junior
Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area) lowered his prelim time of 44.67 to 44.30 to capture the PSAC title. Junior
Ian Hamilton (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) improved from 45.22 to 45.04 to take third, while senior
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) cut his prelim swim of 45.77 down to 45.45 to place fifth. In the B final, freshman
Daryn Ginter (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) (46.79 to 46.39), freshman
Tom Houck (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) (46.55 to 46.40), and junior
Matt Boehme (Blue Bell, Pa./Universal School) (46.72 to 46.76) added additional team points.

Chad Jones (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) scored in the 200 backstroke, improving from 1:56.83 in prelims to 1:55.85 in finals to place 14th.
In the 200 breaststroke, senior
Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) advanced to the A final and shaved time from 2:04.42 to 2:04.16 to finish seventh. Junior
Connor McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) posted one of the Huskies' largest improvements of the night, dropping nearly three seconds from 2:07.25 in prelims to 2:04.34 in finals to place 11th. Senior
Constantin Buga (Philadlephia, Pa./Northeast) finished 15th in 2:08.45.
Bloomsburg closed the championships emphatically by winning the 400 freestyle relay in 2:59.61. Drake (44.45), Houck (45.96), Holmes (44.79), and Hamilton (44.41) combined for the fastest relay of the meet and sealed the Huskies' third-place team finish.
Behind a conference champion in the 100 freestyle and a relay title to close the night, Bloomsburg secured third place overall and capped the championships with one of its strongest final-day performances in recent years.
