Drake Breaks School Record as Men's Swimming Sends Nine to Finals in Day Three of PSAC Championships

YORK, Pa. — Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area) breaks Bloomsburg's record in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:48.85 as eight other Huskies qualify for the finals on day three of the PSAC Championships.

The morning started with Brayden Kemezis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) taking sixth in the 500-yard freestyle with a final of 4:38.98. He will be the first Husky to be featured in the A Finals. Michael Huegel (Springfield, Pa./Spriingfield) took 12th in the race with a time of 4:48.49 to earn a spot in the C Finals. Ethan Coffman (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) will join Huegel in the C Finals after finishing 15th with a time of 4:49.14.

Ian Hamilton (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) was the only Husky to qualify in the 100-yard backstroke after taking ninth with a time of 51.16. He will be featured in the B Finals.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Connor McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) will go on to the A Finals after taking seventh with a time of 56.55. Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) will join McClurkin in the A Finals after finishing right behind him in the race, taking eighth with a 56.64 final. Sean Witmer (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg) will go on to race in the B Finals after placing 11th with a 57.13 time.

The prelims ended with the 200-yard butterfly with Drake taking first and moving on to the A Finals. Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) will be alongside Drake as he will also race in the A Finals. He finished seventh with a time of 1:54.39.

The Huskies are currently third in the team standings with 229 points. The finals will start at 5:30 p.m. tonight from the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
