YORK, Pa. - The Bloomsburg men's swimming team continued its strong showing Friday night at the 2026 PSAC Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center, holding third place in the team standings through three days of competition.
The 200-yard medley relay team of
Chad Jones (Akron, Pa./Ephrata),
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway),
Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area) and
Ian Hamilton (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) opened finals with a fourth-place finish in 1:30.84. Holmes delivered a 24.72 breaststroke split and Drake followed with a 21.58 fly leg to keep the Huskies in the top four.
In the 500 freestyle,
Brayden Kemezis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) earned 12 points with a seventh-place finish in the A final, touching in 4:39.74 after a 4:38.98 prelim. Kemezis stayed under 29 seconds for much of the middle portion before closing in 26.60. In the B final,
Michael Huegel (Springfield, Pa./Spriingfield) clocked 4:49.84, while
Ethan Coffman (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) added a 4:51.94, giving the Huskies a trio of scoring swims in the event.
Hamilton returned in the 100 backstroke B final and placed 12th overall in 51.91 after a 51.16 prelim.
Bloomsburg made a strong push in the 100 breaststroke A final as Holmes dropped from 56.64 in the morning to 56.00 to finish fourth. He split 25.97 on the opening 50 before closing in 30.03.
Connor McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) also lowered his prelim time (56.55 to 56.23) to place fifth, while
Sean Witmer (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg) added points in the B final with a 57.40.
In the 200 butterfly, Drake secured a third-place finish in 1:50.42 after qualifying first for the A final in 1:48.85, breaking the Bloomsburg school record. He opened in 24.03 and stayed in the hunt through the third 50 before touching for 16 team points.
Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) added a sixth-place finish in 1:53.25, improving from his 1:54.39 prelim with a strong middle 100.
Bloomsburg stands third in the men's team race with 343 points heading into the final day.
The final day of competition gets underway on Saturday with prelims at 10:00 a.m. and the finals beginning at 5:00 p.m.
