Men's Hoops to Hold Alumni Day with Weekend Crossover Games

 
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team is set to play Slippery Rock University and Edinboro University this weekend for two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover games at the Nelson Field House. 
 
The Huskies (2-2) host The Rock (2-1) on Saturday, Dec. 1 and face Edinboro (3-0) Sunday, Dec. 2 with both games set to tip at 3 p.m.
 
Saturday's game will be aired live on BUTV's webcast and broadcast live on WHLM (930-AM) based out of Bloomsburg with Larry White calling all the action. Sunday's game will be broadcast live on WHLM (930-AM) based out of Bloomsburg with Jim Doyle and Larry White calling all the action. In addition, listeners throughout the world can listen to the game live on BU's website at www.buhuskies.com. The pre-game show will begin 20 minutes before tipoff.
 
At halftime of Saturday's game against Slippery Rock, head coach John Sanow and his coaching staff will host Alumni Day and invite all Bloomsburg men's basketball alumni to attend the game.  All alum attending will be recognized at halftime of the men's game followed by an alumni game after the men's game.

The Huskies are coming off an 81-67 setback to Lincoln on Wednesday.  Junior Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) led BU in scoring going 5-for-7 from beyond the arc for 17 points.  Freshman Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) passed out three assists and had six rebounds in the game.  Junior Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) added eight rebounds for the Huskies.
 
Earlier this week, Jordan and freshman Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) were named PSAC Eastern Division Athletes of the Week.  Jordan earned the Athlete of the Week, while Lyons was named the Freshman of the Week.
 
On the season, Jordan leads the Huskies with 17 points and 13 rebounds per game.  He is 23-for-55 from the field.  Christmas follows with 16.5 ppg, with a team-high 12 three-pointers and averages six rebounds a game.
 
Lyons adds 14.7 ppg along with six rebounds a game.  He leads the team in steals with seven.  Haigler leads the Huskies in assists at 16, and dishes out four per game.
 
In last season's game against Slippery Rock, Bloomsburg won 62-58.  Jordan led the team with 21 points.
 
The Rock are 2-1 on the season after an 80-73 loss to Lake Erie College last Saturday.  SRU won its previous two games; 70-48 over Ohio Valley University and 62-56 over La Roche College.
 
Senior Darious Clark leads the team in scoring at 17.7 points per game.  Junior Tabari Perry is second in scoring with 12.3 ppg. He is shooting .667 from the field and makes 75.0 percent of his three-pointers.
 
The Rock's head coach, Kevin Reynolds, is a 1991 Bloomsburg University graduate.  The Rock are away at Mansfield on Dec. 2 for another PSAC crossover match-up.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
 
In the last meeting with Edinboro, Bloomsburg came out on top 77-68.  Jordan led the offense with 15 points and added nine rebounds for the Huskies.
 
Edinboro is 3-0 after defeating Urbana 88-85 on Nov. 27.  Junior Bryan Theriot led the Fighting Scots with 31 points against Urbana going 13-for-19 from the floor with a team-high and seven rebounds.  Senior Isaiah Prince shot 3-for-4 from the floor and passed out seven assists.
 
Theriot leads the team in scoring with 25.3 points per game and has a .689 field goal percentage.  He received PSAC Western Division Athlete of the Week honors earlier this week.  The Fighting Scots are back in action on Saturday, Dec. 8 at California University of Pennsylvania.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
 
Bloomsburg is back in action Saturday, Dec. 8 for PSAC East play at Millersville. Game time is 3 p.m.
