Bloomsburg Basketball to Host “Play 4 Kay” Games on Saturday

BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University athletic department along with the men's and women's basketball teams will host its annual “Play 4 Kay” games on Saturday, Jan. 26 at Nelson Field House.

The Huskies will host West Chester University on Saturday with the women set to tip at 1 p.m., with the men following at 3 p.m.

The event will be held in conjunction with the PSAC initiative "Hooping For A Cure" and the national "Play 4 Kay" initiative of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Hooping for a Cure is part of a national breast cancer awareness and fundraising effort on behalf of the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association in partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and The V Foundation.

All 16 PSAC institutions have designated a home game for their Hooping for a Cure contest. At each game the athletes will wear black (men) or pink (women) t-shirts during warm-ups to show their support of women's cancer awareness. Fans will also have the opportunity to donate towards breast cancer research via the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Hooping for a Cure is a PSAC fundraising and awareness effort as part of the WBCA's Play 4Kay, formerly known as the WBCA Pink Zone. As of Fall 2012 the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has raised approximately $7 million for cancer research.

Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to the event.
