BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University men's and women's basketball teams travel to Erie this weekend to take on Gannon University and Mercyhurst University on Jan. 4-5 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action.
 
Friday's game will be aired live on Gannon's webcast at the link above. All games will be broadcast live on WHLM (930-AM) based out of Bloomsburg with Jim Doyle and Larry White calling all the action. In addition, listeners throughout the world can listen to the game live on BU's website at www.buhuskies.com. The pre-game show will begin 20 minutes before tipoff.
 
WOMEN
 
MATCH UP: The Huskies (7-2, 3-2 PSAC) close out a season-long, six-game road trip this weekend.  Gannon has won each of the previous three matchups in the all-time series including a 10-point, 63-53 win last season.  Bloomsburg and Mercyhurst meet for the eighth time as the Huskies have won four of the seven matchups.  BU took down the Lakers 65-55 last season.
 
NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT: Bloomsburg is ranked 22nd in this week's USA Today Division II Top 25 poll.  Gannon enters Friday's showdown ranked eighth in the national poll.
 
SHARE THE WEALTH: Bloomsburg leads the PSAC at 17.67 assists per game. BU is assisting on 66.53 percent of its total field goals.  It has had 10 or more assists in 40 of its last 41 games.
 
THIS IS HER HOUSE: Lauren Ellis (Bangor/Bangor) ranks ninth in BU history in blocks with 77.  She needs one to move into eighth and tie Hilarie Runyon's mark of 78 set in 1992.  Ellis had a career-high three rejections against Philly.
 
MAKE THE EASY ONES: The Huskies lead the PSAC in free throw shooting at 75.8 percent. Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland/Tri-Valley) (86.7) leads the PSAC and Dana Wieller (Bethlehem/Liberty) (85.7) is third.

 
MEN
MATCH UP: Bloomsburg's (2-7, 0-5 PSAC) set of PSAC crossover games mark the end of a season-long, five-game road trip.  Against the Golden Knights, the Huskies are searching for their first win in the all-time series.  GU has won the previous eight matchups.  Gannon will travel to Mansfield on Saturday.  Against Mercyhurst, Bloomsburg is looking to break a five-game losing streak against the Lakers.  The Huskies' sole win in the series was on Feb. 13, 1994 by a score of 98-83 at Bloomsburg. Mercyhurst will play Mansfield at home Friday night.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE: Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) registered double-doubles in four games this season including each of BU's opening three games.  He is fourth in the PSAC in rebounding at 9.9 per game, and his 3.7 offensive rebounds per game are
fifth in the PSAC. Jordan has 17 career double-doubles including 10 during his freshman season in 2010-11.
 
THREE IS BETTER THAN TWO: The Huskies are third in the PSAC with 6.3 three-pointers per game. Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown)' 2.4 three-pointers per game lead the PSAC, and his 38.6 percent from beyond the arc ranks sixth in the PSAC.
 
SEND IT BACK: Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) had two blocks against Millersville. It is the only multi-block game for a BU player this year.
 
CRUNCH TIME: Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) is BU's top shooter in the final five minutes, shooting 52.2% from the field and 43.8% from beyond the arc.
 
TOP COMBO: BU is +32 this season when Christmas, Haigler, Jordan, Lyons, and Leaks are on the floor, the highest +/- rating of any combo.           
                              
CHARLES IN CHARGE: Freshman point guard Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) is making an immediate impact in his first season.  Along with being the third-leading scorer on the team at 12.3 per game, he averages 3.4 assists per game for 11th in the PSAC, and is third in the PSAC with 2.2 steals per game.
 
MORE TIME DOWN THE STRETCH: Moustapha Noumbissi (Upper Darby/Delaware County Christian School) set a number of career-highs against Cal. He set top marks with 19 minutes, six points, four rebounds, and two free throws.
