Bloomsburg Swim Teams Travel to Dickinson for Saturday Competition

LAST TIME OUT
Men - (Meet Recap) This past Saturday Bloomsburg defeated Edinboro at Nelson Field House, 141-101. The men posted 25 PSAC qualifying markers during this meet.  Jake Harner led the team with three qualifying markers. Harner swam a 59.03 to qualify in the 100-breast, a 2:14.05 to qualify in the 200-breast, and also swam a 22.21 to qualify in the 50-free.  Alex Otero qualified in two events: the 200-free with a time of 1:47.19 and in the 100-free with a time of 49.37. Nolan Schneider qualified in the 200-fly with a time of 2:04.24 and the 100-fly with his time of 53.92. Also qualifying in two events was Bryan Masilotti. Masilotti qualified in the 50-free with a time of 22.02 and the 100-free with a time of 48.33. Several other Huskies qualified in individual events. In the 1000-free, Brandon Sherbo qualified with a 9:54.0, Frank Eichhorn qualified with a time of 10:12.50, and Mark DiLemmo qualified with a time of 10:22.70. Along with Otero Greg Beyer and Michael Anderson also qualified in the 200-free. Beyer qualified with a time of 1:49.92 and Anderson qualified with a time of 1:50.29.  In the 100-back Aaron Cancro qualified with a time of 54.87 and Nick Angeny qualified with his time of 56.71.  Qualifying in the 100-breast were Tyler Gross, Tyler Washington, and Eric Usbeck.  Gross qualified with a time of 1:00.07, Washington with a time of 1:01.44, and Usbeck with a time of 1:01.50. In the 200-fly Tom Malloy qualified with a time of 2:02.82. For the 50-free Ageny and Pat Stasio both qualified.  Ageny qualified with a time of 22.41 and Stasio qualified with a time of 22.43.  In the 200-back A.J. Brady qualified with a time of 2:00.15 and Cancro qualified with a time of 2:02.33.  Gross also qualified in the 200-breast with a time of 2:12.81.  Lastly, Sherbo qualified in the 500-free with his time of 4:51.86.
 
Women -(Meet Recap) The women lost to Edinboro in a close meet, 135-127. Four of the Huskies women swimmers each posted two qualifying markers during this meet.  Brooke Gilson (Whitehall/Whitehall) posted a qualifying marker in the 1000-free with a time of 10:43.28 and a qualifying marker in the 500-free with a time of 5:15.50. Gilson won both of her events.  Nicole Young (Trooper/Methacton) qualified in the 100-breast with a time of 1:08.20 and in the 200-breast with a time of 2:28.33. Rachel Brooker (Stevens/Cocalico ) qualified in the 100-fly with her time of 59.35 and in the 200-fly with a time of 2:13.11. Lastly with two qualifying marks was Kaci Mcllmoyle. Mcllmoyle qualified in the 200-back with a time of 2:12.73 and in the 200-IM with the time of 2:14.79.  Alison Bradway (Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca) qualified in the 1000-free with her time of 10:55.16.  In the 200-free Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) qualified with a time of 1:59.81. Qualifying in the 100-back was Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin) with a time of 1:00.74.  Courtney Middleton (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) qualified in the 200-fly with her time of 2:17.77.
 
LAST MEETING
Men - On Nov. 18, 2012 Bloomsburg defeated Dickinson,  135-115.  Harner won the 100-breast with a time of 1:00.29. Cole Underwood and Otero both picked up qualifying markers in the 200-free. Winning the 200-free was Otero with his time of 1:49.21.  Jeremy Frey won the 200-back. Winning two events was Sherbo in the 1000-free with a time of 9:59.42 and the 500-free with a time of 4:49.55.  Malloy won the 200-fly with his time 2:02.42.  Also winning his event was Masilotti with a time of 49.4 in the 100-free.
 
Women - The women defeated Dickinson 153-91.   Ashley Bauer (Temple/Muhlenberg) posted a time of 2:01.79 in the 200-free.  Morgan Johnston (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) won the 100-breast with a time of 1:09.98 and Ali Luzik (Halifax/Halifax) placed second with her time of 1:10.22.  Bridget Hilferty (Royersford/Perkiomen Valley) won both in the 200-free (1:57.64) and also won the 500-free with her time of 5:15.03. Ashley Dix (Schwenksville/Perkiomen Valley) also won two events. Dix won the 50-free with a time of 25.48 and the 100-free with a qualifying time of 54.64. Wheatley also won two events: the 100-back with a time of 1:00.91 and the 200-back with a time of 2:16.48.
 
BLOOMSBURG/DICKINSON CONNECTION
Dickinson's head coach Paul Richards is a 1975 Bloomsburg graduate. He entered this season with a 112-52 record with the Dickinson men's team and a 93-53-1 mark with the women's squad and has eight Coach of the Year awards to his credit after joining the school in 1994.
