BLOOMSBURG (4-1, 2-0 PSAC East) vs. Cheyney (1-5, 1-1 PSAC East)
Wednesday, Dec. 4 - 7:30 p.m.
Nelson Field House

SCOUTING CHEYNEY

The Wolves have opened the season with a 1-5 overall record, dropping three in a row to start the season vs. Bowie State (87-73), Virginia State (71-65) and West Chester (78-61) before scoring a 78-62 win at home over Shippensburg. Cheyney fell in its last two games, 73-61 in overtime at the University of the Sciences and 79-68 at Lincoln (PA). The Wolves are still searching for their first road victory, going 0-3 away from home thus far. Cheyney was selected seventh in the preseason PSAC East Coaches Poll and returned two starters from last year, although lost its top two scorers from a season ago when Cheyney went 14-12 overall and 8-8 in PSAC East play.

Players to Watch
Jerrod Johnson,  sophomore guard - Johnson did not play in 2012-13, but was a starter during the 2011-12 campaign, averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds while leading the team in assists. Thus far through this season, he's second on the team with 16.8 points per game.

Deshawn Curtis, senior forward - Curtis is among the league leaders in scoring on the year at 18.0 ppg and also adds nearly eight rebounds per night. He scored  a season-high 28 points in the Wolves' last game vs. Lincoln (PA) on Nov. 30.

THE BLOOMSBURG-CHEYNEY SERIES
Cheyney leads, 67-64

The long history between schools has been a tight one with the Wolves holding a narrow three-game edge all-time. The squads split the season series last year with each team defending its home court. The Huskies have not lost to Cheyney at home since dropping an 83-81 nail-biter on Feb. 19, 2011.

WHEN LAST WE MET
Bloomsburg scored an 80-64 win over Cheyney at Nelson Field House on Feb. 9, 2013. It was a memorable night for forward Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) as he reached 1,000 points for his BU career with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, slamming home a breakaway dunk for his 1,000th career point at the 9:19 mark of the second half. Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) registered 29 points and the duo combined to shoot 24-of-27 from the free throw line. The 57 combined points marked the highest output for the Bloomsburg duo dating all the way back to the 2002-03 season.

STRIVE FOR FIVE
The Huskies enter Wednesday's game riding a four-game winning streak to move to 4-1 on the season. Bloomsburg will attempt to win a fifth consecutive game for the first time since winning seven straight between Nov. 16-Dec. 4, 2011.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY
Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) has been a strong scoring threat this season, ranking second in the conference in points at 20.0 ppg, trailing only Edinboro's Jonny Marsh (21.2 ppg). Jordan has been just as strong defensively – he leads the PSAC in steals thus far with 15 (3.0 spg).

SAINTILUS SHINES
Junior forward Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had his finest game as a Husky at Lock Haven on Nov. 23, taking over the second half as Bloomsburg rallied from an early deficit to score a 62-57 win. Saintilus shot a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor on his way to 16 points and six rebounds off the bench. Twelve of his 16 points came during the second half and his layup with 3:40 remaining gave the Huskies an advantage they never relinquished.
