SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Despite playing without two starters who missed Saturday's game due to injury, the Bloomsburg men's basketball team won its sixth straight game with a balanced scoring attack in an 80-61 victory at Shippensburg's Heiges Field House.

Playing without leading scorer Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) and starting center Moustapha Noumbissi (Upper Darby/Delaware County Christian School) who both sat out with injuries, the Huskies found production throughout the lineup to move to 6-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in PSAC East play. Four Huskies worked their way into double figure scoring – Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) each scored 16 points with Lyons also adding five steals. Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) registered 14 points and Ed Hall (Washington, DC/Paint Branch) finished with a season-high 10 points and six rebounds. Jon Riles (Philadelphia/Academy of the New Church) also posted nine points and six assists while Andrew Morgan (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph's) provided a spark off the bench with a season-best eight points.

The Huskies took command early, using a 14-7 break midway through the first half to stretch a 32-19 lead at halftime. Bloomsburg stifled Shippensburg during the opening 20 minutes, holding the hosts to less than 26 percent shooting from the floor (7-for-27). Saintilus powered the first half offensive attack with 11 points while Lyons added eight.

The lead continued to grow for the Huskies early in the second half. Bloomsburg set the tone early on a thunderous dunk from Saintilus who grabbed an alley oop from Christmas off the backboard and jammed it home for a 40-24 lead, forcing Shippensburg to call for timeout.

The brief stoppage of play did little to slow Bloomsburg's momentum, however. A traditional 3-point play from Christmas followed by a dunk from Hall in back-to-back possessions put Bloomsburg ahead by 16 (47-31) six and a half minutes into the second period. Christmas kept the momentum rolling with a 3-pointer following a miss from Shippensburg to extend the lead to 50-31 and grab complete command of the contest.

Bloomsburg led by as much as 25 points as it dominated the second half of play, shooting an electric 61.5 percent from the floor (16-of-26).

Joe Lococo netted a game-high 27 points for Shippensburg (1-5, 0-3).

With finals week on tap, the Huskies will be off until Dec. 17 when they travel to Edinboro for a PSAC crossover contest.

GAME NOTES: Christmas moved into a tie with Jeff Benson (1997-99) for 25th in school history in points with 1,025 … Bloomsburg held a 35-32 edge in rebounding and outscored Shippensburg at the foul line, 30-19 … Saintilus tied a career-high with four blocks … Bloomsburg leads the all-time series vs. Shippensburg, 103-63, and scored its first win over the Raiders since the 2011-12 season.
