SHIPPENSBURG – Junior forward
Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) notched his sixth double-double of the season with a 22-point, 13-rebound effort, but the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team fell to Shippensburg University on the road Wednesday evening, 68-59, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action from Heiges Field House.
Jordan led the Huskies (7-15, 5-13 PSAC) with an effective 8-for-14 shooting from the field while making all six of his free throw attempts. He also had two blocks in 37 minutes on the floor. Jordan, this week's PSAC East Athlete of the Week, has now scored 20 or more points in three straight games.

Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) scored 12 points with three three-pointers to go along with four rebounds. Freshman forward
Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) played well before eventually fouling out for the team-leading fifth time this season. He scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds against some tough inside competition from Shippensburg (6-16, 4-14).
Bloomsburg shot 42.6 percent from the floor, but second half turnovers plagued the Huskies after holding the lead at halftime. BU committed 23 turnovers, 14 coming in the second half, as it was out-scored in the second half 37-27. It is the first time in six games that the Huskies were out-scored in the second half.
Bloomsburg got off to a great start for the second straight game. It led by as many as 11, 15-4, at the 12:13 mark of the first half off an and-one play by
Moustapha Noumbissi (Upper Darby/Delaware County Christian School). Shippensburg responded with an 11-2 run to cut the lead to two at 17-15.
With Bloomsburg leading 28-23 with 2:59 to play in the first half, Shippensburg went on an 8-0 run in 1:24 to take its first lead of the game and stretch it to 31-28 with 1:27 to play. The Huskies scored the final four points of the half to take a 32-31 lead into halftime.
Shippensburg opened the second half on a 16-8 run to take a 47-40 lead at the 13:31 mark. BU had five turnovers in the Shippensburg run.
The Huskies pulled within one at 56-55 with 5:40 to play. However, Shippensburg responded with a 12-4 run to end the game to seal the season sweep over the Huskies.
Shippensburg was led by three players in double figures. Tyhiem Perrin scored a team-high 18 points with four three-pointers, Reggie Charles scored 17 with an 8-for-9 performance at the free throw line, and Sam Pygatt finished with 11 points.
Bloomsburg will look to return to the win column on Saturday, Feb. 16 when it travels to West Chester University for a PSAC East matchup beginning at 3 p.m.
