Men's Basketball Team Falls At West Chester

WEST CHESTER—The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team lost to West Chester on Saturday afternoon, 96-75, in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup. The Huskies lost two starters to injury with Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) and Zach Sheetz (Landisville/Hempfield) both leaving the game.
 
The Golden Rams grabbed control of the game early. After Bloomsburg's Daniel Kusnyer (Wexford/Hillsborough CC) tied the game at 3-3 with a three-pointer, West Chester went on a 14-3 run to open a 17-6 lead five and a half minutes into the game.
 
The Golden Rams biggest lead of the first half was 22 points on two occasions. The Huskies closed the gap back to 46-32 using an 8-0 run led by Andrew Morgan (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph's)'s six points with 2:20 to go in the half.

In the second half the Golden Rams twice led by as many as 36 points. Bloomsburg though closed out the final five minutes on an 18-2 run, including a 12-0 spurt over the last 2:50 to make the final margin, 96-75.
 
Kusnyer led the Huskies, now 7-16, 5-14 in the PSAC, with 15 points, while Nasir Jones (Philadelphia/Franklin Learning Center) added 12 and Jordan 10 before leaving the game. West Chester, 17-6, 15-4 in the PSAC, got 18 points from Carl Johnson and 13 from Corey Blake. Also, Jaleel Mack and Shannon Givens scored 11 each.
 
Bloomsburg returns home on Wednesday to face Mansfield starting at 7:30 p.m.
