Jordan Eyes 1,000 Career Points Saturday at Home against Cheyney

 
BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team is coming off a dramatic triple overtime win Wednesday night and hopes to continue to build its momentum this weekend at Nelson Field House.  BU hosts Cheyney University on Saturday, Feb. 9 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game beginning at 3 p.m.
 
The game will be broadcast live on WHLM (930-AM) based out of Bloomsburg with Jim Doyle and Larry White calling all the action. In addition, listeners throughout the world can listen to the game live on BU's website at www.buhuskies.com. The pre-game show will begin 20 minutes before tipoff.
 
MATCH UP: The Huskies (6-14, 4-12 PSAC) are coming off a triple overtime win over Millersville, 100-94. BU is tied for fifth in the Eastern Division with Kutztown entering Saturday's game. Cheyney (9-11, 7-9) won the first meeting this season, 72-54, and last won at Nelson Field House during the 2010-11 season.
 
SECOND HALF HEROICS: Bloomsburg has outscored the opposition in the second half in seven of its last eight games. The only game it did not was at Cheyney.
 
RACE TO 1,000: In his third season in the maroon and gold, junior for­ward Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) has scored 979 points in his career and needs 21 to be the 26th player to score 1,000 points in school history.
 
LIGHTS OUT LORENZO: Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) is 11th in the PSAC at 15.5 points per game. Christmas' 2.8 three-pointers per game lead the PSAC, and his 36.6 percent from beyond the arc ranks fifth in the PSAC. He is fourth on the Bloomsburg all-time three-pointers list with 151. He has also made a three-pointer in 27 consecutive games played.
 
BENCH SCORING: After topping the 20-point mark just two times in its first 10 games, BU has produced 20 or more bench points in nine of its last 10 games. BU had a season-high 35 points off the bench against ESU and averages 19.2 points per game off the bench.
 
After its game with Cheyney, Bloomsburg hits the road for two games.  It travels to Shippensburg on Wednesday, Feb. 13 with tipoff set for 8 p.m.
