Baseball Falls to Slippery Rock in Game One, Game Two to be Completed Sunday

NORFOLK, VA – The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped the first game of a doubleheader to Slippery Rock University 10-0 Saturday afternoon at Virginia Wesleyan College, and leads 2-1 after three innings as game two was postponed to Sunday due to darkness.
 
Sunday's game will be resumed after Slippery Rock and Mansfield complete their nine-inning game starting at 10 a.m.

In game two, Jordan Schainholz (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) put the Huskies on the board with an RBI triple in the second inning to score Brian Almand (Haddon Township, NJ/Paul VI), who singled the previous at-bat.
 
Entering the third inning with game tied at 1-1, A.J. Stump (Reading/Antietam) gave Bloomsburg a 2-1 lead in the third with an RBI single to score Tim Ravel (Sinking Spring/Wilson).
 
Senior Matthew Dean (Gilbertsville/Boyertown) started for Bloomsburg in game two. It was his second career start in 17 appearances.  In three innings, Dean had four strikeouts while allowing three hits.
