MANSFIELD, Pa. – Bloomsburg erupted for five runs in each the fifth and sixth innings of game one to come from behind to beat Mansfield 10-4, but the Mountaineers avoided the sweep by defeating the Huskies 10-6 in the nightcap.
The loss halted Bloomsburg's nine-game win streak, but the Huskies have still won 15 of the squad's last 19 games. The win streak was the longest for the Huskies since the 1999 team won nine straight and just two games shy of the school record of 11 consecutive wins set by the 1995 club that won the NCAA Atlantic Regional to advance to the NCAA Championships.
In the opener, Mansfield scored once in the second and three times in the fourth inning to take a 4-0 lead before the BU bats went to work.

Aaron Russell (Montoursville/Montoursville) and
Brian Almand (Haddon Township, NJ/Paul VI) trimmed the Bloomsburg deficit to 4-2 with one out.
Nickolas Eversole (Lewistown/Indian Valley) tied the game when he pounded an RBI double that brought both Russell and Almand across home plate.
Joey Casselberry (Eagleville/Methacton) knocked Eversole in later in the frame for a 5-4 lead.
It was Baiada and Stump again reaching base to lead off the next inning as both players singled to put runners on first and second.
Brad Smith (Morgantown/Twin Valley) hit a comebacker to the mound, but the throw to first got away, allowing Baiada score for a two-run lead. A pitching change followed before Stump scored on a wild pitch. Almand picked up his second RBI base hit of the day, with a bunt single that drove in Smith for an 8-4 lead. A pair of hit batsmen loaded the bases and
Nick Mazza (Carbondale/Carbondale) stroked a two-run single to left, making it 10-4 in favor of Bloomsburg.
Kyle Hunter (Lehighton/Lehighton) picked up the win with three innings of one-hit relief, striking out three. Starter

The Mounties avoided a four-game sweep in game two with nine runs in the first three innings.
Bloomsburg took a 1-0 lead in the game on a wild pitch and a throwing error that allowed Almand to score, but MU scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.
After Mansfield scored seven over the first two innings, an RBI single by Casselberry put Bloomsburg back on the scoreboard.
Almand drove in Baiada and Smith with a single in the fourth that cut Mansfield's lead to 9-4.
Trailing 10-4 heading into the seventh, Bloomsburg rallied. Mazza and Baiada singled to lead off the inning and
