BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team (8-5) returns to action after a week off by hosting nationally-ranked East Stroudsburg (15-0) as PSAC East play resumes Wednesday night at Nelson Field House with a scheduled tipoff of 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday's game pairs the only two undefeated PSAC East teams with the Huskies standing at 4-0 in conference play while ESU is 5-0.

The Huskies will be playing their second consecutive game against a nationally-ranked opponent, after leading by seven during the second half at No. 6 IUP last Wednesday before falling, 63-53. The Warriors, ranked eighth in the latest NCAA Division II Top 25 poll, stretched their winning streak to a school-record 15 straight games to begin the year with a 101-71 win over Shippensburg on Saturday.

SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
The Warriors are off to the best start in school history, putting up dominating performances over their first 15 games. East Stroudsburg has won 13 games by double digits, owning a scoring margin of +21.4, highest in the PSAC, also scoring 100 points five times – tying a school record first set in 1970-71. While the offense has been extremely strong (88.2 ppg), the defense has often been outstanding as well – ESU ranks fourth in the nation in steals per game (11.1/game) and third in turnover margin (+8.6). The Warriors have also been on fire from long range as of late, draining 10+ 3-pointers in three straight games.
Players to Watch
#11 Whis Grant, junior guard – Already a 1,000-point scorer in his junior season, Grant is among the PSAC's scoring leaders at 16.7 ppg, scoring in double figures in 12 of 14 games with a season-high of 29 points set in a November win at Kutztown.
#1 Jamal Nwaniemeka, sophomore guard – A transfer from Rider, he has averaged 13.0 ppg in his Warriors debut, shooting over 49 percent from the floor. He Tallied 19 points in last game vs. Lock Haven on Saturday.
THE BLOOMSBURG-EAST STROUDSBURG SERIES
Bloomsburg leads, 92-65
Wednesday will mark the 158th meeting between Bloomsburg and ESU in men's basketball. The Warriors have won the last two meetings, sweeping last year's season series. ESU won, 102-44, at home last February and also seized a 77-68 win in the last meeting at Nelson Field House on Jan. 30, 2013. The last victory in the series for the Huskies came at home in overtime, 80-78, on Feb. 22, 2012. On that night, a last-second tip-in from
Nnamdi Njoku (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) sent the Huskies to victory. Bloomsburg trailed the entire game before forcing OT with late free throws after shooting 63.6 percent during the second half.
Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) led all scorers with 25 points for BU while Terrance King led ESU with 21 points.
