BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team created multiple strong chances in extra time on Saturday afternoon at a cold Hubert Jack Stadium, but settled for a 0-0 tie through double overtime against Lock Haven to conclude the 2014 season.

Bloomsburg finishes at 7-8-3 overall and 5-8-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play while Lock Haven wraps its slate at 3-12-2, 3-11-2.

Shelby Koch (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) earned her first career start and made the most of it, coupling with strong play defensively in front to make five saves and blank the host Lady Eagles.

Bloomsburg outshot Lock Haven 4-1 during the second period, but the Lady Eagles fired the only two shots of the first overtime and nearly ended it in the final minutes of the initial extra period.

Two stellar defensive plays by the Huskies kept the match going, however. First, Koch made a sensational save in the 99th minute to turn away an attempt by Lock Haven's Jenna Hunter.

Less than 30 seconds later, Lock Haven's Maddy Novak seized a ball from the middle of the box with a header attempt, but
Taylor Gerstenfield (Warminster/William Tennent) stepped in front to make the save and preserve the tie, forcing a second extra period.

The Huskies controlled much of the second overtime and had the only two shots of the period.
Ashley Sanchez (Lyndhurst/DePaul Catholic) recorded a header attempt in the 102nd minute that was stopped by keeper Morgan Euston, but the Huskies kept the pressure on.

Brooke Mohney (Bigler/Clearfield) almost sent the Huskies home with the victory in the 104th minute with her header effort, forcing Euston to make a nifty save on the final shot on goal of the day.

Bloomsburg finished with a 9-8 edge in shots for the afternoon while the sides tied 4-4 in corner kicks awarded.

Michelle Cuomo started and made two saves for Lock Haven in 57-plus minutes while Euston played the rest of the way and made three stops.

Sanchez fired five shots to lead the Huskies attack.
