Anthony McKie (Blue Bell/Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored a game-high 20 points to help lead the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team to an 83-78 win over Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday night. With the win the Huskies stay perfect on the season at 5-0.

Bloomsburg held the early edge in game jumping out to an early four-point lead on a layup by
Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) giving the Huskies a 9-5 edge four minutes into the game. The Lightning came back and grabbed the lead, which they pushed to seven points, 25-18 on a jumper by Domineek Owens with just under five minutes to play. A strong finish to the first half by the Huskies, led by four free throws from
Ashkan Naderi (Herndon, VA/Herndon), helped cut into the lead and sent Bloomsburg to the break down 35-32.

The Huskies started the second half by briefly taking the lead on
Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy)'s jumper putting BU on top 36-35 just a minute into play. But Goldey-Beacom came back and used a 10-3 run to lead 45-39 with 15:46 to play in the game.

Bloomsburg stormed back using a 10-0 run of its own to regain the lead. Haigler scored five points and
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) drained a 3-pointer in the rally as the Huskies opened a four-point lead 49-45.

Goldey-Beacom came back one more time and the teams were tied five times over the next six minutes before the Lightning hit a pair of free throws to take the lead at 63-62 with 6:24 to play. That would be the final lead for the home team.

Bloomsburg regained the lead for good on a dunk by Saintilus with 5:58 to play and stretched that margin to eight points, 75-67 on a layup by
Moustapha Noumbissi (Upper Darby/Delaware County Christian School) with 2:10 to go. Goldey-Beacom fought back cutting the lead down to two points with 38 seconds to play, but strong free throw shooting by the Huskies helped give Bloomsburg the win. In the final 35 seconds the Huskies were 6-6 from the free throw line to seal the win. Overall in the final 1:14 of the game Bloomsburg was 8-10 from the line with KcKie going 6-6.

Along with McKie's 20 points,
Jon Riles (Philadelphia/Academy of the New Church) scored 14, Â Haigler 13 with Saintilus adding 12 and Noumbissi 10 for Bloomsburg. Joey Goetz scored 20 points for Goldey-Beacom, which fell to 2-2 on the year.

The 5-0 start is the best for Bloomsburg since the 2006-07 season when the team started 6-0. The Huskies return to action on Monday, Dec. 1 hosting Penn State Lehigh Valley at 7 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
