MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team will play its final road game of the regular season on Saturday, traveling to Mansfield. The Huskies are battling for the third seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament, which would give Bloomsburg a first round home game The Huskies enter Saturday a game ahead of fourth-place Lock Haven and Millersville which are tied at 8-6. Bloomsburg swept the season series from Lock Haven while splitting a pair of games with Millersville.
SCOUTING MANSFIELD
Saturday is Senior Day at Decker Gymnasium with seniors Charles Becoats, Kevonte McClain, Onyema Utti and Xavier Warner playing their final home games. Beacoats averages 12.0 ppg and has 780 career points to lead the senior class. The Mountaineers remained alive in the PSAC Tournament race with an 80-77 win at Shippensburg on Wednesday, placing Mansfield a half game behind Kutztown for the sixth and final playoff spot from the PSAC East. Saturday's game is Mansfield's last chance to improve its stock as it marks the Mountaineers' regular season finale. On Wednesday, Joe Bell scored a game-high 21 points while Charles Pemberton posted his ninth double-double of the year by scoring 14 points and hauling in 14 rebounds.
Mansfield ranks sixth in the PSAC in points per game at 74.5 while standing last in defense, surrendering 80.0 ppg. The Mountaineers shoot the ball well – ranking fourth in field goal percentage at 46.1 percent, and also allow their opposition to shoot very well – opponents have shot 46.0 percent from the floor against Mansfield.
THE BLOOMSBURG-MANSFIELD SERIES
Bloomsburg leads 100-72
Saturday marks the 173rd meeting between the two schools in men's basketball. The Huskies last swept the season series in 2011-12. Mansfield won, 73-66, at Nelson Field House last February and recorded a 101-68 win at Decker Gymnasium in the first round of the PSAC Tournament. Bloomsburg used a 16-2 run over the final 5:43 to pull away from Mansfield in the first game of the year, taking a 70-68 lead and turning it into an 86-70 victory on Jan. 22. Last year's regular season game at Decker Gymnasium went to double overtime with the Huskies prevailing, 82-81.

PLAYOFF TICKET PUNCHED
Bloomsburg has locked itself into the PSAC Playoffs next month. This will be the third straight year the Huskies have reached the PSAC Tournament, the first time Bloomsburg has reached the conference playoffs three consecutive years since a run from 1995-2002. The top two seeds receive byes and have already been determined as East Stroudsburg and West Chester have been locked into the first and second seeds respectively.
