HUSKIES HONOR SENIORS
Bloomsburg will honor their six seniors on Wednesday night -
Andrew Morgan (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph's),
Jamar Smack (Philadelphia/State College),
Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown),
Armand Leaks (Philadelphia/The Shipley School),
Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) and
Ed Hall (Washington, DC/Paint Branch). Ed has been a four-year member of the Huskies who has endured an injury-plagued career. In his only full season of action in 2011-12 Ed averaged 7.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. His career-high in points was 17 against UPJ in 2009, while grabbing his career high of 14 rebounds against the University of the Sciences in 2011.
Andrew is a three-year member of the Huskies who is averaging 3.9 points per game this year seeing action in a career-high 25 games. He scored in double figures in back-to-back games recently with 11 against East Stroudsburg and 10 against West Chester.
Armand has been a four-year member of the Huskies and has seen action in 74 games and has grabbed 137 career rebounds and scored 106 career points.
Jamar is a four-year member of the Huskies who has seen action in 86 career games with 12 starts. His career-high in points was 15 in a game against Shippensburg is 2011, while he dished out a career-best six assists against Clarion in 2011-12.
Lorenzo is a four year starter for the Huskies and has played in 100 career games with 88 starts. For his career he is 14th in scoring in school history with 1,261 points and is the school's all-time leader in made 3-pointers with 230. This season he is averaging 14.2 points per game and set a career-high in made 3-pointers with 64.
Dontahe is a four-year starter for the Huskies and is a former PSAC East Freshman of the Year in 2010-11 and the PSAC East Player of the Year in 2011-12. He is a two-time All=PSAC first team selection along with being named to the Daktronics Atlantic Region Second Team and NABC All-District First team in 2011-12. He is one of just five Bloomsburg players with over 1,000 career points and 700 career rebounds.
SCOUTING KUTZTOWN
The Golden Bears are locked into the No. 6 seed from the Eastern Division and will play at Bloomsburg on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the first round of the PSAC Tournament.
Kutztown is a young team, led by freshman Josh Johnson who has won PSAC East Freshman of the Week honors two weeks in a row and four times this season. He averaged 19 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks last week and is averaging over 20 points per game during the past three games.
In all, Kutztown boasts nine freshmen along with only two sophomores, three juniors and one senior - guard Tyler Brooks. Head coach Bernie Driscoll is in his 14th season at the helm and is the winningest coach in Kutztown history with over 200 wins.
The Golden Bears rank 12th in the PSAC in scoring offense at 70.7 ppg and 14th in defense, allowing 75.3 ppg.
In the first meeting of the year, Kutztown rallied from a 28-7 deficit to begin the game for a 72-61 win over the Huskies.
THE BLOOMSBURG-KUTZTOWN SERIES
Bloomsburg leads 106-50
Bloomsburg will be very happy to play Kutztown at home Wednesday as they have had much success against the Golden Bears at Nelson Field House, including an 85-80 overtime win on Feb. 23, 2013. The story has been different on the road, where the Huskies have lost 12 straight at Kutztown's Keystone Arena, including 72-61 setback on Jan. 25.
