CHEYNEY—
Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team to a 62-56 win over Cheyney University in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division matchup Thursday night. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was delayed a day due to Wednesday's snowstorm.

The Huskies and Wolves were locked in a back and forth game in the early going with four lead changes and three ties in the first six minutes of action. With the score tied at 11,
Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) hit a jumper that started a 7-0 run for the Huskies. Jordan followed his jumper with two made free throws, while
Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) buried a three-pointer giving Bloomsburg an 18-11 lead with just under 12 minutes to go in the half.

Cheyney rallied going on a 13-5 run over the next seven and a half minutes to regain the lead at 24-23. Jordan though answered with jumper to put Bloomsburg back on top followed by a layup from
Andrew Morgan (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph's) for a 27-24 lead with 3:11 left.

Leading 31-28 at halftime the Huskies scored the first four points of the second half with Christmas and Jordan scoring in the lane giving Bloomsburg a seven-point advantage. The Wolves put together another rally and tied the game at 37-all when Deshawn Curtis dunked a miss with 12:25 to play.

Bloomsburg then went on a 16-6 run over the next six minutes making it a 53-43 game, a run triggered by a dunk from Christmas. In the big rally the senior led the Huskies with 10 points, including back-to-back three-pointers.
Cheyney came back one more time and twice trimmed the lead to two points. The first was on a layup by Jerrod Johnson with 3:05 to play with the final time coming on Eugene Lett's free throw with 1:42 left. That free throw pulled the Wolves to within 53-55 with 1:42 remaining.

After each team missed on jumper's Christmas hit a traditional three-point play with 1:08 left to put Bloomsburg on top, 58-53. The Huskies then went 4-4 from the foul line in the final 50 seconds to give Bloomsburg a nine-point edge at 62-53. Cheyney got a late three-pointer to made the final 62-56.

Joining Christmas in double figures for Bloomsburg, now 12-8, 8-3 in the PSAC East, was Jordan with 12 points and 15 rebounds, while
Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) scored seven points.

Curtis led Cheyney, 3-18, 3-8 PSAC East, with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Calvin Brown added 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Bloomsburg hosts Shippensburg on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
