BLOOMSBURG—
Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team to a 78-53 win over Shippensburg University in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division game on Saturday at the Nelson Field House.

In the opening 10 minutes play the game was back and forth with six lead changes and three ties. Abe Massaley's conventional three-point play with 11:13 to go in the first half put the visiting Raiders on top 15-13. It would be the final lead of the game for Shippensburg.

The Huskies tied the game at 15-15 on a jumper by
Armand Leaks (Philadelphia/The Shipley School) before Haigler's jumper with 9:36 left in the half gave Bloomsburg the lead for good at 17-15. The baskets started a 16-3 run for the Huskies, capped by an
Andrew Morgan (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph's) 3-pointer, that pushed the lead 31-18 with 4:59 left in the half.

Later the Huskies would go up by 15 points, 38-23, on a layup by
Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) before going to the locker room up 13.

After the break the Huskies came out on fire to start the second half going on a 16-2 run to take a 54-27 lead with 15:39 to play. Christmas drained a pair of 3-pointers and Alssene Saintillus scored five points, including a monster dunk, in the big run that broke the game open.

Bloomsburg pushed the lead to 31 points on several occasions over the next 10 minutes, the last coming on a 3-pointer by
Zach Sheetz (Landisville/Hempfield) with 5:59 to go giving the Huskies a 71-40 lead. The Huskies, though, were never threatened in the second half and finished with a 25-point win.

Along with Haigler's 15 points, Christmas added 13 points and
Moustapha Noumbissi (Upper Darby/Delaware County Christian School) 12 off the bench.

Sam Pygatt led Shippensburg, 2-19, 0-11 in the PSAC East, with 11 points, while Mark Wilmer scored 10 points.

Bloomsburg, 13-8, 9-3 in the PSAC East, plays a non-conference game on Wednesday hosting Goldey-Beacom at 7:30 p.m.

Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown/Norristown) hit three, 3-pointers in the game giving his 221 for his career. He needs just five more to pass Mike Ellzy (225) to become the school's all-time leader…Bloomsburg is now 5-0 when holding teams below 60 points…
Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) had a career-high three assists in the game.
