STORYLINE
The Huskies begin a four-game series with Millersville in a battle for first place atop the PSAC Eastern Division standings on Saturday at Danny Litwhiler Field before traveling to Millersville on Sunday. The series was originally slated to start at Millersville on Friday, but those games were postponed due to wet grounds. Bloomsburg and Millersville have each been atop the PSAC East standings along with Shippensburg in the early going of conference play. The Huskies split at West Chester their last time out to earn their second series victory of the year. Bloomsburg has won three out of four games in its two completed PSAC East series thus far, defeating West Chester and Lock Haven.

Freshman outfielder Chas McCormick (.351, 19 RBIs) and redshirt freshman outfielder Dan Neff (.351, nine RBIs) also add potent bats in the Marauder lineup. FRAIN EARNS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Junior third baseman Eric Frain (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) was honored as the PSAC East Athlete of the Week this past Monday after helping the Huskies to a doubleheader sweep of West Chester in their only competition last week. Frain went 4-for-6 at the plate, doubled, scored five runs, had an RBI and stole a base during the doubleheader sweep of West Chester last Thursday. The Huskies leadoff man is batting .345 with a .412 on-base percentage entering this weekend. Bloomsburg has won back-to-back PSAC Athlete of the Week awards as senior Brad Smith (Morgantown/Twin Valley) earned the honor the previous week.

PITCHING STAFF CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
Bloomsburg entered the week with a 2.80 team ERA, a figure that ranked 16th in all of Division II. Junior southpaw Tyler Hill (Lehighton/Lehighton) leads the staff statistically with a 4-1 record and a 1.78 ERA including a save picked up at No. 11 Shippensburg on Tuesday. Senior Casey Cooperman (Allentown/Parkland) (3-3, 2.16), sophomore Matt Jaskolka (Warren/Warren Area) (4-1, 3.18) and senior Kyle Hunter (Lehighton/Lehighton) (0-1, 2.93) have all been strong in the rotation. Sophomore Alex Carpenter (South Williamsport/South Williamsport) was strong Wednesday at West Chester in his second appearance of the year, working two hitless innings.

RISING UP THE RANKS
Three current Huskies are rising up the Bloomsburg career record books. Redshirt junior Tim Ravel (Sinking Spring/Wilson) has 38 career stolen bases, including nine this year, to rank seventh in school history. Next up is the 45 recorded by Mike Reinking from 1997-2000. Senior Casey Cooperman (Allentown/Parkland) stands tied for fifth in wins (14), fourth in innings pitched (208.1), tied seventh in strikeouts (144) and tied eighth in complete games (11). With his save earlier this week, Tyler Hill (Lehighton/Lehighton) is now tied fourth in school history with seven saves.

The next day, the Huskies won, 2-1, in eight innings in the opener at West Chester before falling, 1-0, in game two. For the season the Huskies are 4-3 in one-run games.
