Ashley Sanchez (Lyndhurst/DePaul Catholic) put a deflection off a corner kick past East Stroudsburg's goalie. East Stroudsburg got on the board in the 59th minute when Sammi Jo Hughes shot on a breakaway beat the diving Huskies goalkeeper to knot the score at 1-1. The game stayed 1-1 through the remainder of regulation forcing overtime for the two teams. The Huskies had first crack at scoring getting a corner kick in the 95th minute, but could not convert. East Stroudsburg then got the game winner when Shea Neal took a cross from Courtney Keller and scored from five yards out.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURGThe Warriors had a 2-1 win at Mercyhurst for their fourth straight win in PSAC play this past Saturday. Senior forward Courtney Keller scored the game-winning goal with 19 minutes left after sophomore forward Brielyn Hackett scored her first career goal for ESU in the 29th minute. Keller finished the game with one goal and one assist for East Stroudsburg. Keller has six career goals and five assists, and recorded her first goal since a 2-1 win over West Chester on Oct. 16, 2012. ESU is off to one of its best PSAC starts in program history, which includes a 5-0 start last fall.
