A LOOK BACK ...
The Huskies opened the 2015-16 regular season with a split last Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14. Bloomsburg defeated Penn State Hazleton by a 78-48 score at home on Friday night then lost at Felician on Saturday evening by a 57-54 final. Bloomsburg improved to 9-0 lifetime against Penn State Hazleton but dropped to 0-2 in the all-time series against Felician.

VS. PENN STATE HAZLETON (11-13) ...
Bloomsburg led 39-26 at halftime and then outscored the Nittany Lions by a 39-22 margin in the second half for a 30-point win. It was the first time since November 19, 2011 - an 82-50 win over Lock Haven - that Bloomsburg had defeated an opponent by 30 points or more. Senior Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) led the way with 20 points while redshirt senior Wes Lyons (Millville/Millville) (14), redshirt sophomore Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) (11), and sophomore Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant/Mid-Valley) (10) also finished in double figures. The Huskies had 20 assists to only eight turnovers while forcing 29 Penn State Hazleton miscues.

VS. FELICIAN (11-14) ...
Felician handed Bloomsburg its first loss of the young season with a 57-54 victory over the visiting Huskies on Saturday night. The game was close throughout as the score was tied 11 times and the lead changed 14 times. Both teams struggled from the floor - Bloomsburg shot just 32.7% while the Golden Falcons shot 37.3%. Junior Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy) posted his first double-digit point total in a Bloomsburg uniform after scoring 12 points. Redshirt sophomore Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) also poured in a dozen points in the loss.

LAST MEETINGS ...
Bloomsburg dropped a 67-58 decision against Seton Hill on January 3, 2015 at Nelson Field House. Three Huskies scored in double figures, led by Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) who scored 13 points off the bench. Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had 12 points while Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant/Mid-Valley) chipped in 11 during the loss. David Windsor paced the Griffins with 22 points while Noah Davis added 17. Seton Hill led by 15 at halftime before hanging on for the nine-point win.

The following afternoon, the Huskies dropped a 75-68 decision against California (PA), also at Nelson Field House. Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) poured in 20 points off the bench to lead Bloomsburg. Jon Riles (Philadelphia/Academy of the New Church) added 13 points in the loss. Four Vulcans scored in double figures, led by Khalil Jabbie who scored 16 points. California (PA) attempted 45 free throws in the contest (made 30) while the Huskies were 16-of-26 at the line.

SCOUTING SETON HILL ...
Seton Hill opened its season on Thursday night with a 77-73 overtime loss at Lake Erie College. The Storm led by five at halftime before the Griffins outscored Lake Erie by five in the second half to force an extra session. Four Seton Hill players finished in double figures, led by Kameron Taylor who scored 18 points and also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Noah Davis added 17 points while Tyler Bowling (11) and Trevor Blondin (10) also finished in double digits. Davis connected on four of the team's six three-pointers in the contest. The foul line proved costly for the Griffins - Seton Hill was 9-of-18 from the charity stripe, including just 5-of-12 (41.7%) in the second half. Taylor is the top returning scorer from last season after averaging 13.2 points per game a year ago. Davis averaged 11.1 and hit 51 three-pointers.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA ...
The Vulcans have started the season with an 0-3 record (not including Saturday's game against Lock Haven) and an 0-1 record in the PSAC West. California lost to Notre Dame (OH), 86-69, in the opening game at the West Liberty Tournament on November 14 and then dropped a 108-74 decision to the hosts the following evening. The Vulcans opened PSAC play with a 93-61 loss at Pitt-Johnstown. California has allowed 95.7 points per game in three contests this season. Luka Andjusic leads the Vulcans in scoring, averaging 10.7 points per game. Khalil Jabbie is the only other player in double figures, averaging 10.0 points per contest. California is shooting just 40.1% from the field while allowing opponents to shoot 50.9%. The Vulcans are also just 41-of-70 at the free throw line (58.6%) through three games.

DOWNTOWN WITH THE HUSKIES ...
The Huskies have made at least one three-pointer in 129 consecutive games. The last time Bloomsburg did not make a three in a game was on December 4, 2010 in a 54-51 loss at Lock Haven when it went 0-7 from beyong the arc.

DEADLY FROM LONG RANGE ...
Redshirt sophomore Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) picked up where he left off last season in the first two games of the 2015-16 campaign. Despite averaging only 11.5 minutes over against PSU Hazleton and Felician, Mortellite is tied for the team lead in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game. He went 3-for-4 from three-point range in each contest, tying him for third in the PSAC early on by shooting 75% from beyond the arc. That figure has him 13th in the country. He is tied for fourth in the PSAC by averaging three triples per contest. Last season, Mortellite hit 51 of his 119 three-point attempts (42.9%).

SANOW CLOSING IN ON SECOND-PLACE IN CAREER WINS ...
Head coach John Sanow is in his 10th season as the head coach of the Bloomsburg men's basketball program and has guided the Huskies to a 102-142 overall record to date - third in Bloomsburg history among career wins. Sanow needs 11 victories to pass Harold S. Shelly who won 112 games with the Huskies from 1949-1960. However, Sanow has a long time to catch the program's all-time leader, Charlie Chronister, who compiled 559 victores from 1971-2002. Below is a list of the top five wins leaders in program history:

Charlie Chronister (1971-2002)559-288 (.660)
Harold S. Shelly (1949-1960)112-74 (.602)
John Sanow (2006-pres.) 102-142 (.418)
George C. Buckheit (1932-1943; 1944-1946)99-75 (.569)
Earl Voss (1966-1971)63-42 (.600)

MORTELLITE PARTICIPATES IN CAN-AM CHALLENGE ...
Mortellite had a busy offseason after earning a spot on the 2015 Can-Am Challenge team. He spent most of July playing in the United States and Canada against international competition. Mortellite was one of ten players from around the northeastern United States to be selected for the team. Mortellite joined the team for training camp that began July 23 in Syracuse and had played in games in Ottawa, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. The team's tour concluded on July 31.

TRANSFERRING IN ...
The Huskies have a new look roster in 2015-16 with five transfers and no true freshmen on the team as the program looks to improve on a 10-16 season a year ago.Among the new faces for the Huskies are two transfers from Prince George's Community College (PGCC) in Maryland, Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy) and Malik Sneed (Washington, D.C./Spingarn). Diggs, a 5-11 point guard, averaged 16.0 points and 5.0 assists per game last year for the Owls. He also shot 78 percent from the foul line (159-202). Sneed averaged 5.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots a game last year for PGCC. Also, transferring from Nyack College, was Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia/Boys Latin), a 5-8 guard who averaged 8.1 points and 2.3 rebounds a game. The fourth newcomer is Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy), a 6-6 forward, who comes from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, where he averaged 4.5 points for his career, while the fifth newcomer is Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, DE/Sanford School) who transferred from Highland (KS) Community College where he averaged 12.8 points and 8.4 rebounds a game.

NIGHT FOR THE AGES ...
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton)'s 37 points on February 11, 2015 at West Chester not only represented a career night, but also was one for the Huskies history books. It was the most points in a single game by a BU player since Bill Connelly netted 37 points on November 21, 1988 at New York Tech. No Huskies player has scored more since 1978 when Al Williams registered 40 against Mansfield. With game-by-game records available to the 1973-74 season, no Huskies freshman has ever scored as many points. Below is a listing of highest BU scoring outputs since 1973-74:
