Media GuideLAST TIME OUT> A thunderous rally from the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team nearly wiped out what seemed like an insurmountable halftime deficit before falling short in the final minutes, 99-94, at Kutztown on Wednesday night.
> Kutztown hit 17 of their first 19 field goal attempts on the way to shooting at an 82.8 percent clip (24-of-29) over the opening period, taking a 60-32 cushion into halftime. BU went on a 40-15 tear to close within six points, but could get no closer.
> Three Huskies scored 20+ points in the same game for the first time this season -
Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) had 24 points while
Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) had 22 apiece.
ABOUT MILLERSVILLEMillersville has locked up a playoff spot with a 10-11 record in the PSAC East and is now playing for seeding. The Marauders looked to be in trouble after losing leading scorer Kelvin Parker (16.5 ppg) at the start of the spring semester, losing their first game without him, 84-66, at Bloomsburg on Jan. 21. After a loss the next game vs. West Chester, however, Millersville is 4-2 including a 61-58 upset win over East Stroudsburg on Jan. 31.
Four players average double-figure scoring - Eddie Callender (12.6 ppg), Tyree Smith (11.7 ppg), Sam Light (11.2 ppg) and Anthony Moe (11.1 ppg). Millersville ranks 13th in the PSAC in scoring at 70.5 ppg, and ninth in defense while allowing 71.9 ppg. Millersville likes to live on the perimeter, taking 196 3-point attempts this year, third in the PSAC, despite making just 30.4 percent of those tries, ranking 16th.
