LAST TIME OUT ...
Bloomsburg trailed for a majority of its matchup against Kutztown on Wednesday night but managed to pull off a thrilling 81-77 overtime victory over the Golden Bears at the Nelson Field House. The two teams battled through six ties and 16 lead changes with no lead larger than a seven-point Kutztown advantage with 8:11 left in regulation. Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) converted his own put back with five seconds left in regulation and Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) hit two free throws to snap a 77-77 tie with 55 seconds left in overtime as the Huskies earned the four-point win. Mortellite finished with a game-high 25 points and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds. Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy) added his fourth double-double of the season with a career-high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Bloomsburg held a slim 45-44 edge in rebounding but had 19 offensive boards that resulted in 14 second-chance points. Josh Johnson led five Golden Bears in double figures with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

THE LOCK HAVEN SERIES ...
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Lock Haven, 99-35, and enters Saturday's contest with a modest two-game winning streak against the Bald Eagles. Over the last ten meetings, the Huskies have gone 8-2 against the Bald Eagles. During the last ten games, Bloomsburg's eight victories have been by an average of 17.3 points per game.

LAST MEETING AGAINST LOCK HAVEN ...
Bloomsburg got off to a bit of a slow start but used a huge run to cruise to a 78-49 victory over Lock Haven at Nelson Field House on January 16. Trailing 19-13 with 8:49 left in the first half, the Huskies went on a 31-2 run (including a 26-0 run after being down 21-18) to take a 44-21 lead with 16:15 left in regulation. Bloomsburg forced Lock Haven into 18 turnovers which it turned into 22 points. The Huskies also held a 41-35 advantage in rebounding. Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy) paced the Huskies with 15 points - his seventh double-digit scoring output in the last eight games. Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) finished with 13 while Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy) added 11. Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) narrowly missed a double-double with eight points and a season-high nine rebounds. Bloomsburg shot 46.6% from the floor and limited the Bald Eagles to just 30.5% shooting. Bloomsburg also tied a season-high with eight three-pointers (8-of-19).

SCOUTING LOCK HAVEN ...
Lock Haven brings a 12-11 overall record and an 8-11 mark in the PSAC East into Saturday's contest at Thomas Fieldhouse. The Bald Eagles have won back-to-back contests against Millersville on February 6 (78-65) and Cheyney on February 10 (94-88) which snapped a six-game losing streak that dated back to January 13. Lock Haven scores 75.8 points per game and gives up 75.8 points per game entering play on Saturday. The Bald Eagles have been outscored by one point (1744-1743) in their 23 games to date. Bootsie Walker is the team's leading scorer at 11.8 points per game but has not played since February 3 against Kutztown. Lamin Fulton is next at 10.2 points per contest while Brahieme Jackson is right behind at 10.1. Jackson is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.7 boards per game. Lock Haven spreads its offense around as nine players are averaging more than five points per game. The Bald Eagles are last in the PSAC in rebounding margin as the team has been outrebounded by an average of 6.6 boards per game. The team is also 16th out of 18 teams in three-pointers per game (5.3) while shooting at a 33.9% clip. Al Blount and Julian Bond have combined to hit 59 of the team's 122 triples this season.

DOWNTOWN WITH THE HUSKIES ...
The Huskies have made at least one three-pointer in 149 consecutive games. The last time Bloomsburg did not make a three in a game was on December 4, 2010 in a 54-51 loss at Lock Haven when it went 0-7 from beyond the arc. Bloomsburg struggled to keep the streak alive on Saturday, January 9 at Kutztown, however, as the Huskies went just 2-of-13 from long range. Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant/Mid-Valley) hit the team's first triple with 18:08 left in the contest. From January 3 against Slippery Rock to Janaury 13 at Millersville, Bloomsburg had made a total of 14 three-pointers (3.5 per game) and was shooting just 20.6% from long distance during the month of January. However, over the last seven contests, the Huskies are 41-of-118 (5.9 per game) from long distance including a season-high nine threes at Mansfield on Saturday, February 6.

THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE ...
Wednesday's overtime victory over Kutztown marked the first time Bloomsburg had played in an overtime game since suffering a 78-76 loss at home against Mansfield on February 14, 2015. It was the first overtime win by the Huskies since knocking off Adelphi, 70-68, on November 15, 2014. In Wednesday's contest, no lead was bigger than seven points for either team (Kutztown - 60-53) and the teams battled through six ties and 16 lead changes.

GARNER AND MORTELLITE SHOW ...
It was the Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy) and Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) show on Wednesday, February 10 as the Huskies pulled off an 81-77 overtime win over Kutztown. The duo combined for 45 of Bloomsburg's 81 points and 23 of the team's 45 rebounds in the victory. Mortellite finished with 25 points and a career-high 13 rebounds while Garner posted a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. It was the second time this season that they both had double-doubles in the same game - they also accomplished the feat in the 81-70 win over Shippensburg on January 27.

GARNERING SOME ATTENTION ...
Senior Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy) has 10 double-digit scoring outputs in his last 14 games and is now averaging 9.1 points per game. His best output came on February 10 when he posted a career-high 20 points in the win over Kutztown. Over the last 14 games, Garner has scored 164 points (11.7 ppg) on 65-of-144 (45.1%) from the field and 15-of-42 (35.7%) from beyond the arc. Through his first eight games of the year, Garner scored 36 points (4.5 ppg) on 15-of-42 from the field (35.7%) and 0-of-9 from three-point range. His rebounding is also up - he is averaging 7.3 rebounds over the last 14 games after posting only 3.8 per game in his first eight.

SHORTHANDED HUSKIES ...
For the first time this season, Bloomsburg had to play without its starting point guard, Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy), and its starting shooting guard, Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy), on Saturday, February 6, at Mansfield. However, the Huskies were able to leave Mansfield with a 79-71 victory thanks, in large part, to junior Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia/Boys Latin) and sophomore Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant/Mid-Valley) who stepped into the starting roles. Greenlee started for the first time as a Husky and scored a career-high 14 points while adding four rebounds and four assists. Prislupsky earned his seventh start of the year and scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. The duo were two of five players to reach double figures in scoring for the contest (Mortellite, 17; Steward, 13; Rose, 10) - the second time this season that Bloomsburg has had five in double figures. The other occurrence came on November 22 in the Huskies' 81-75 win at California (PA).

WHAT A FINISH ...
Redshirt freshman Tyriek Steward (Wilkes-Barre/Elmer Meyers) finished with 13 points against Mansfield on Saturday, February 6, with all 13 of his points coming in the final 8:18 of regulation. Steward helped the Huskies extend, what was a three-point lead at the time, to as many as 16 before settling for an eight-point win. It was Steward's fifth double-digit game of the season but his first since scoring 15 against West Chester on December 16. In the ten-game span between double-digit scoring efforts, Steward averaged just 4.1 points.

GREENLEE PROVIDES SPARK ...
Junior Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia/Boys Latin) became the 11th different player this season to score in double figures when he dropped in 11 points in the loss to West Chester on February 3. He added a career-high 14 points in the win at Mansfield on Saturday, February 6. Despite only averaging 12.2 minutes in 13 games this season, Greenlee is averaging 5.2 points per contest. Pro-rated to 40 minutes, Greenlee would be the team's third-leading scorer at 16.9 points per 40 minutes. He would trail only Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton)'s 26.6 and Chandler Junk (Pennsburg/The Perkiomen School)'s 17.5 pro-rated scoring average.

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE ...
With Malik Garner (Philadelphia/Chestnut Hill Academy) and Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) posting double-doubles during Wednesday's victory over Kutztown, Bloomsburg, as a team, has now had eight double-doubles this season. Garner leads the team with four while Mortellite is right behind with three. Malik Sneed (Washington, D.C./Spingarn) has also had a double-double for the Huskies this season. All three of Mortellite's double-doubles have come in the last five games while Garner has had three of his four double-doubles over the last eight contests.

ALL-AROUND CAREER ...
Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) currently ranks fourth on the team in scoring by averaging 7.3 points per game. He is also third on the team in assists with 31 (1.5 per game) and leads the team, and is tied for 17th in the conference, with 29 steals (1.4 per game). He is climbing a number of program career leaderboards which include being ranked fourth in career steals with 166. He trails Aaron Carter (1998-02) by 15 to move into a tie for third on the all-time list. Haigler also needs 97 points to become the 29th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points. For his career, Haigler averages 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.8 steals.

MORTELLITE NAMED PSAC EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK ...
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) captured the PSAC East Player of the Week honors on Monday, February 1, for the second time this season after averaging 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in a pair of Husky victories last week. Mortellite had 20 points and a career-high 12 boards in the win over Shippensburg on Wednesday, January 27, and then posted 26 points and 11 rebounds in the win at East Stroudsburg on Saturday, January 30. He also won the honor back on November 23.

COMING UP ROSES ...
Sophomore Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, DE/Sanford School) sparked the Huskies off the bench against Shippensburg on January 27, scoring a career-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 4-of-6 from the line. It was the first time that Rose had recorded at least ten points in a game in a Bloomsburg uniform. He became the 10th different player to hit double figures in a game this season. He added seven rebounds and three blocks in the victory. After recording 10 points at Mansfield on Saturday, Rose is averaging 7.4 points over his last five games and is averaging 3.7 points in 22 games this season.

DEPTH PERCEPTION ...
Bloomsburg is getting production from a number of different players this season as 13 of the 15 players who have played at least one game this year have registered at least 19 points - and all 15 have scored at least three points. The Bloomsburg bench has scored 566 points this season, an average of 25.7 points per game and 34.1% of the team's scoring.

MORE ON MORTELLITE ...
Redshirt sophomore Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) is averaging 19.0 points per game this season which ranks fifth in the PSAC, but first in the Eastern Division. With two three-pointers at Mansfield on Saturday, February 6, he became just the ninth player in school history with at least 100 career triples (101). He needs four threes to tie Ryan Nenstiel (2003-05) for eighth on the school's all-time list. Meanwhile, after not recording a double-double in his first 42 collegiate games, Mortellite has had three such outings in the last five contests. During Bloomsburg's 7-1 stretch over the last eight games, Mortellite is averaging 19.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He needs 226 points to join the 1,000-point club.

DIGGING HIS PERFORMANCE ...
Junior Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy) leads the team in assists with 87 (4.1 per game) and is second on the team in scoring (9.5 points per game). He became the first Husky with at least ten assists in a game since Charles Haigler (Charles Town, WV/Hargrave Military Academy) had 10 against Mansfield on January 23, 2013 when he dished out ten helpers in the win over Mansfield on December 19. He is seventh in the conference in assists (4.1) and is fourth in the league in assist/turnover ratio (2.1). He has recorded ten double-digit scoring efforts with his season-high of 22 coming at East Stroudsburg on Janaury 30. Diggs has also had three games with at least eight assists and twelve contests with at least four helpers.

EPIC RUNS ...
Bloomsburg got off to a sluggish start on Saturday, January 16, against Lock Haven but then went on a remarkable run to earn a 78-49 victory over the Bald Eagles. Trailing 19-13 with 8:49 left in the first half, Bloomsburg outscored Lock Haven 31-2 over the next 12:34 to take a 44-21 lead with 16:15 left in regulation. The Huskies trailed 19-18 with 5:11 left in the opening half and scored the next 26 points in the game, limiting Lock Haven to zero points in 8:56 of game action. Then, trailing 24-6 at East Stroudsburg on January 30, the Huskies went on a 16-0 run to get back into the game which eventually led to a stunning 91-84 come-from-behind victory.

SANOW PASSES SHELLY FOR SECOND-PLACE IN CAREER WINS ...
Head coach John Sanow is in his tenth season as the head coach of the Bloomsburg men's basketball program and has guided the Huskies to a 115-149 overall record to date - second in Bloomsburg history among career wins. Bloomsburg's 91-84 win at East Stroudsburg on January 30 was #113, which moved him ahead of Harold S. Shelly who won 112 games with the Huskies from 1949-1960. However, Sanow has a long time to catch the program's all-time leader, Charlie Chronister, who compiled 559 victores from 1971-2002.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE ...
Bloomsburg will return home to host Millersville on Wednesday, February 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from the Nelson Field House. Earlier this season, the Huskies handed the Marauders a 71-60 loss in Millersville back on January 13.
