Wrestling Team Falls to Sacred Heart

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University wrestling team fell to Sacred Heart University, 24-10, on Saturday in a non-conference matchup.

The Huskies top three leaders in wins all picked up victories on the day with Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) posting a 13-3 win at 133 pounds; Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) posting a 3-0 win at 157 pounds and Dominic Carfagno (West Paterson, NJ/St. Joseph Regional) coming from behind to win 13-12 at 197 pounds.

Carfagno trailed 6-3 going to the third period and in a wild final minute scored 10 points to get the win. Coming out of an injury timeout, his opponent took bottom. The move backfired as Carfagno, after allowing an escape, got a takedown and a four-point near fall and went on to win 13-12.

Bloomsburg falls to 1-16 with the loss, while Sacred Heart improved to 2-14. The Huskies travel to Lehigh on Sunday to face the sixth-ranked Mountain Hawks at 2 p.m.
