SCOUTING BLOOMSBURGThe Huskies are currently 14-10 overall and sit in a three-way tie for fifth place in the PSAC East standings with a 3-5 mark. Bloomsburg took three-of-four from Mansfield last weekend to get into the win column in conference action. As a team, Bloomsburg is batting .322 with two starters batting over .400 and five others above the .300 mark.
Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) leads the Huskies with a .435 batting average (37-of-85) and went 13-of-20 (.650) last week during a 4-1 week for the Huskies. He leads the team in hits (37), on-base percentage (.510), and stolen bases (9). His .435 average is currently eighth in the PSAC.
Joey Casselberry (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) is the other Husky who owns an average above .400 as he comes in with a .402 batting average (35-of-87) with three home runs and 33 runs batted in. He is tied for the team lead in RBI after driving in 14 runs in five games last week.
Ryan Kirman (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) has been the main power source as he leads the PSAC, and is eighth in the country, with 11 home runs. He is tied with Casselberry for the team lead in RBI with 33 and also sports a .333 batting average (30-for-90). On the mound, Bloomsburg has a 5.03 team earned run average. Among starters,
Zach Newmyer (New Cumberland, Pa./Red Land) has the best ERA at 3.42 in five appearances (three starts). He is 3-2 on the season and has struck out 22 batters in 23.2 innings. Out of the bullpen,
Ashton Raines (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) leads the team in appearances (8) and is 1-1 with a team-best 2.57 ERA. He has struck out 18 batters in 14 innings and has a team-high two saves.
SCOUTING LOCK HAVENLock Haven enters the series with a 13-10 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the PSAC East. The Bald Eagles were swept at Seton Hill (6-4, 4-3) on Wednesday and have now lost three straight and four of their last six. Lock Haven has a .315 team batting average with Hunter Szflarski leading the squad with a .378 mark (28-of-74). Szaflarski also leads the team in runs (19), doubles (8), RBI (25), and total bases (36). Justin Sleigh has gone deep a team-high three times and is currently batting .286 (22-of-77) on the season. The pitching staff has a team earned run average of 3.50 which is second in the PSAC (Millersville, 3.20). Jacob Belinda leads the team with a 2.08 ERA and is 3-2 in five appearances (four starts). He has struck out 36 batters in 21.2 innings and has allowed only 12 hits (.148 batting average). Mike Anthony is also off to a fast start as he sports a 4-0 record with a 2.28 ERA.
