STORYLINE
Bloomsburg will step out-of-conference for a mid-week doubleheader against Philadelphia University from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The Huskies have won six straight and eight of their last nine entering play on Wednesday. The Rams, meanwhile, have lost four of their last five, but won their last game against Caldwell, 16-6, on April 2.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the overall series against Philadelphia, 12-4, including a pair of victories earlier this season.

LAST MEETING
The two teams met on March 9 with the Huskies sweeping the Rams by the scores of 6-2 and 8-2 in Philadelphia. Zach Newmyer (New Cumberland, Pa./Red Land) and Alex Carpenter (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) earned the wins on the mound while Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) and Shane Woelfel (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) each had four hits in the sweep. Damin Muth (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) chipped in with three hits and four runs-batted-in.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies had a big weekend, sweeping a four-game series against Lock Haven, to improve to 18-10 overall and 7-5 in the PSAC East. Bloomsburg has won six straight games and has moved into a tie for second place, with East Stroudsburg, in the Eastern Division standings. The Huskies are batting .322 as a team, which has them fifth in the PSAC. Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) had his 16-game hitting streak snapped in game two on Saturday, but still leads the team with a .434 batting average (43-of-99) - fifth in the conference. He leads the team in hits (43), on-base percentage (.504), and stolen bases (9). Tyler Benson (Montville, N.J./Montville Township) is batting .388 (40-of-103) and leads the team in runs scored (40), triples (2), and walks (15). Joey Casselberry (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton), Damin Muth (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland), and Ryan Kirman (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) have been the thunder in the middle of the lineup as they have combined to hit 26 of the team's 34 home runs. Kirman leads the team, and the PSAC, with 14 home runs (fifth in the country). He hit three more last weekend to tie him for the single-season school record for homers (Matt Karchner, 1989). Casselberry is tied for the PSAC lead with 39 RBI while Muth has hit a career-high seven home runs and driven in a career-best 31 runs this season. On the mound, the Huskies have a 5.08 ERA - sixth in the PSAC. Zach Newmyer (New Cumberland, Pa./Red Land) has appeared in seven games (three starts) and is 3-2 with a 3.49 ERA. Zach Meyer (Muncy Valley, Pa./Sullivan County) is right behind with a 4.06 ERA while Mike Warren (Garnerville, N.Y./St. Joseph Regional) leads the staff with four wins. Ashton Raines (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) has become the closer and is 1-1 with three saves and a 2.51 ERA.

SCOUTING PHILADELPHIA
The Rams enter Wednesday's twinbill with a 10-18 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the CACC (does not include Tuesday's score against Millersville). Philadelphia is 5-10 away from its home field this season. As a team, the Rams are batting .284 with five regulars sporting a batting average of .300 or better. Fernando Garza leads the Rams with a .394 batting average (41-of-104) and leads the squad in runs (28), hits (41), doubles (12), triples (2), stolen bases (13), and slugging percentage (.663). Steven Wells leads the team in home runs (6), runs- batted-in (32), walks (24), and on-base percentage (.483) while sporting a .318 batting average. On the mound, the Rams have a team earned run average of 5.35. Casey O'Donnell has started eight games and is 2-3 with a team-leading 3.32 ERA. He has also struck out 48 batters in 40.2 innings. Garza is 2-2 with a 3.53 ERA in six starts and has 30 punchouts in 35.2 innings. Garza also leads with two complete games.
