LAST TIME OUT ...
The Huskies enjoyed an 11-point lead five minutes into the second half but could not hang on at Kutztown on Wednesday night as they dropped a 98-92 decision against 13th-ranked Golden Bears. Bloomsburg had another successful night shooting from long range as it made 10-of-19 three-pointers but it allowed Kutztown to shoot 50.8% from the field and make 9-of-15 from long range. Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) led the Huskies with 28 points while senior Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) poured in a career-high 25 points. Junior Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) returned to the starting lineup and posted his fifth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Anthony Lee led four Golden Bears in double figures with 24 points.

STARTING FIVE ...
1 - Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) continues his rapid ascent up Bloomsburg's all-time scoring list. The sharpshooter currently sits in 18th place on the school's all-time list with 1,230 career points. He leapfrogged Tom Barlow (1999-03) during the win against Millersville and now trails Craig Phillips (1987-91) by 10 points to move into a tie for 17th place. He has scored at least 20 points in 14 of the 16 games this season and has 34 career 20-point efforts in 68 collegiate games. He has hit double figures in 52 of his last 54 games and has been held to under 10 points in a game only nine times in his career.

2 - Bloomsburg has found its stride offensively and has moved to sixth in the PSAC in scoring offense at 80.8 points per game. Head coach John Sanow moved juniors Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) and Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) to the bench for the Felician game on December 18 and, since then, Bloomsburg has averaged 87.3 points over its last eight contests (McGirt returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday against Kutztown). Prior to the lineup change, the Huskies averaged only 74.1 points per contest.

3 - Senior Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) has sparked the Huskies' offense as he has started the last seven games after missing the first nine games of the season. Greenlee finished with then-career-highs in points (15), assists (9), and steals (4) while tying a career-best in rebounds (4) in the victory at West Chester on December 30. He broke his career-high with 19 points at Shippensburg, broke it again with 21 points against Mansfield, and then broke it one final time with 25 points at Kutztown on Wednesday.  All told, Greenlee has hit double figures in all seven games and is averaging 16.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.4 steals. He had posted a previous high of 14 points in a win at Mansfield on February 6, 2016 and hit double digits in scoring only twice last season.

4 - This season, the bench has produced a total of 373 points - an average of 23.3 points per game. Production certainly increased when the Huskies were bringing juniors Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) and Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) off the bench. In fact, Bloomsburg's bench outscored West Chester, 34-8; Cheyney, 41-29; Shippensburg, 34-8; Edinboro, 42-10; Mansfield, 31-0; and Millersville, 32-5, in a six-game stretch. All told, Bloomsburg's reserves have outscored the opponent in nine of the last ten games and by a margin of 271-119. The opposition has totaled 273 bench points (17.1 per game) this season.

5 - Bloomsburg had three players post a double-double in the win at Wilmington - Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) (28 pts, 11 reb), Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) (17 pts, 12 reb), and Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) (12 pts, 11 reb). It marked the first time multiple Huskies' players had a double-double since February 10, 2016 against Kutztown - Mortellite (25 pts, 13 reb) and Malik Garner (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) (20 pts, 10 reb). The Huskies had not had three players post a double-double in the same game since prior to the 1990-1991 season.

THE SERIES ...
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against East Stroudsburg, 91-74.

LAST MEETING AGAINST EAST STROUDSBURG ...
Bloomsburg fell behind, 24-6, in the opening ten minutes of the contest but enjoyed a complete turnaround and posted a stunning 91-84 victory at East Stroudsburg on January 30, 2016. The Huskies were able to cut the lead but again found themselves down by 11, 56-45, with 15:54 left. Bloomsburg outscored East Stroudsburg, 46-28, the remainder of the game to earn the seven-point win. Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) led the Huskies with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy (Prince George's CC)) added a career-high 22 points in the victory. Charles Haigler (Charles Town, W. Va./Hargrave Military Academy) (14) and Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant, Pa./Mid-Valley) (10) also ended in double figures. Jamal Nwaniemeka paced four Warriors in double figures with 16 points.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS ...
East Stroudsburg suffered an 86-82 loss at #8 Shippensburg on Wednesday but still sports a 12-5 overall record and a 10-2 mark in the PSAC Eastern Division. The Warriors were ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region according to the latest D2SIDA poll released on Monday. East Stroudsburg features the PSAC's highest scoring average as it averages 88.2 points per game. Depth is key as the Warriors feature ten players on their roster averaging at least 5.3 points per game. The team's defense is sixth in the PSAC by allowing only 73.8 points per contest. The Warriors are also sixth in the league in rebounding margin and second in turnover margin. Rasheed Moore is one of three players in the PSAC to rank in the top ten in the conference in both scoring and rebounding. He is sixth in the league in scoring (18.4) and tenth in rebounding (6.8). Moore has scored at least 20 points in seven of his last 11 games. Quindell Brice is third on the team in scoring (11.6) and third in steals (17). Kitt Najee Walls runs the offense as he averages 9.6 points per game and also leads the team in assists (4.2) and in steals (24).  Ryan Krawczeniuk is the team's leader in three pointers with 29 while Chris Bing is coming off of his first collegiate double-double as he scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds at Shippensburg.

McGIRT HEATING UP ...
Junior Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) provided the Huskies with a spark coming off the bench after being removed from the starting lineup against Felician on December 18. He did, however, start at Kutztown on Wednesday and posted 16 points and 12 rebounds. In his first eight starts, McGirt averaged 8.8 points and 6.5 rebounds but, in his last eight games (seven in a reserve role), McGirt is averaging 15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds. He has hit double figures in his last eight games including a career-high 26 points in the loss at Shippensburg on January 6.

LATEST MEMBER OF THE 1,000-POINT CLUB ...
On Saturday, December 3, redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) became the latest member of Bloomsburg University's 1,000-point club when he hit a pair of second-half free throws during the Huskies' 74-68 loss at Mercyhurst. All told, 29 players have hit the milestone in Bloomsburg's history with Mike Ellzy leading the way with 1,911 career points (1993-97). Mortellite now has 1,230 points in his Huskies' career - 18th on the school's all-time list. He needs 10 points to tie Craig Phillips (1987-91) for 17th position, 14 points to tie Adam Bohman (1999-03) for 16th, and 22 points to tie Jon Bardsley (1978-82) for 15th place.

MORTELLITE NAMED CLAIMS PSAC EAST HONORS ...
Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon after leading the Huskies to a 3-0 week. He averaged 23.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in the three Bloomsburg wins a week ago. All told, 39 of Mortellite's 71 points came in the second half - Bloomsburg trailed Mansfield and Millersville by double digits in the second half before rallying.

CLIMBING ANOTHER LIST ...
Mortellite is also climbing the school's all-time list for career three-pointers. He owns sole possession of fifth on the school's all-time list after he surpassed Aaron Carter and Mike Cheatle with four triples in the win over Lincoln on November 15. Mortellite now has 180 for his career. Next in his sights is Jay DeShields who knocked down 205 triples from 1998-2002. His 63 three-pointers is already tied for the eighth-highest single-season total in school history. DeShields holds the record with 82 during the 2001-02 season. Meanwhile, junior Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant, Pa./Mid-Valley) has hit 83 career triples and is 16 away from cracking the top ten.

NOT FOUL AT THE LINE ...
Bloomsburg has been impressive from the charity stripe this season as it ranks second in the PSAC, and 15th in the country, in free-throw percentage (77.9%). Senior Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy (Prince George's CC)) (89.1%) and redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) (88.9%) are second and third in the league, respectively, in accuracy. Junior Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) (78.8%) is tied for 17th. The Huskies have also made a living at the line as they have made more trips to the stripe than their opponent in 12 of the 16 games (tied in one) and have scored more points from the line in 14 of the 16 contests (tied in one). Bloomsburg is +87 from the free-throw line this season.

DOWNTOWN WITH THE HUSKIES ...
The Huskies have made at least one three-pointer in 170 consecutive games. The last time Bloomsburg did not make a three in a game was on December 4, 2010 in a 54-51 loss at Lock Haven when it went 0-7 from beyond the arc. Bloomsburg has made at least ten three-pointers in a game five times this season - at Penn State Hazleton (10-of-21), against Pitt-Johnstown (10-of-24), against Cheyney (13-of-22), against Edinboro (10-of-21), and at Kutztown (10-of-19). The Huskies made ten three-pointers in a game just one time last season - an 85-59 home victory against Millersville on February 17, 2016 (10-of-17). Mortellite is second in the PSAC in three-point percentage (44.3%), first in the PSAC (third in the country) in three-pointers per game (3.9), and tops in the PSAC (11th in the country) in total three-pointers (63).

UP NEXT ...
Bloomsburg will head to Lock Haven on Wednesday, January 25 for a 7:30 p.m. start. The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Bald Eagles, 98-35.
