LAST TIME OUT ...
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) scored 22 of his season-high 33 points in the second half as the Huskies erased an eight-point halftime deficit to pull away for a 93-76 victory at Lock Haven on Wednesday night. Mortellite was perfect in the second half - 6-of-6 from the field, 3-of-3 from three-point range, and 7-of-7 at the line - to account for 22 of Bloomsburg's 58 second-half points. Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) added 21 points while Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds despite only playing 14 minutes due to foul trouble. Bloomsburg made 19-of-24 from the field in the second half (79.2%). Freshman Amir Hinton paced the Bald Eagles with 27 points in the loss.

STARTING FIVE ...
1 - Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) continues his rapid ascent up Bloomsburg's all-time scoring list. The sharpshooter currently sits in 14th place on the school's all-time list with 1,289 career points. He jumped ahead Aaron Carter (1998-02) in the win at Lock Haven on Wednesday and now trails Lorenzo Christmas (2010-14) by 10 points to move into a tie for 13th place. He has scored at least 20 points in 16 of the 18 games this season and has 36 career 20-point efforts in 70 collegiate games. He has hit double figures in 54 of his last 56 games and has been held to under 10 points in a game only nine times in his career.

2 - Bloomsburg has found its stride offensively and has moved to fourth in the PSAC in scoring offense at 81.7 points per game. Head coach John Sanow moved juniors Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) and Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) to the bench for the Felician game on December 18 and, since then, Bloomsburg has averaged 87.6 points over its last ten contests (McGirt has rejoined the starting lineup for the last three games while Rose started at Lock Haven on Wednesday). Prior to the lineup change, the Huskies averaged only 74.1 points per contest.

3 - Senior Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) has sparked the Huskies' offense as he has started the last nine games after missing the first nine games of the season. Greenlee finished with then-career-highs in points (15), assists (9), and steals (4) while tying a career-best in rebounds (4) in the victory at West Chester on December 30. He broke his career-high with 19 points at Shippensburg, broke it again with 21 points against Mansfield, and then broke it one final time with 25 points at Kutztown last Wednesday.  All told, Greenlee has hit double figures in all nine  games and is averaging 17.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals. He had posted a previous high of 14 points in a win at Mansfield on February 6, 2016 and hit double digits in scoring only twice last season.

4 - This season, the bench has produced a total of 400 points - an average of 22.2 points per game. Production certainly increased when the Huskies were bringing juniors Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) and Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) off the bench. In fact, Bloomsburg's bench outscored West Chester, 34-8; Cheyney, 41-29; Shippensburg, 34-8; Edinboro, 42-10; Mansfield, 31-0; and Millersville, 32-5, in a six-game stretch. All told, Bloomsburg's reserves have outscored the opponent in 10 of the last 12 games and by a margin of 298-177. The opposition has totaled 331 bench points (18.4 per game) this season.

5 - Bloomsburg had three players post a double-double in the win at Wilmington - Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) (28 pts, 11 reb), Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) (17 pts, 12 reb), and Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) (12 pts, 11 reb). It marked the first time multiple Huskies' players had a double-double since February 10, 2016 against Kutztown - Mortellite (25 pts, 13 reb) and Malik Garner (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) (20 pts, 10 reb). The Huskies had not had three players post a double-double in the same game since prior to the 1990-1991 season.

THE SERIES ...
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Cheyney, 69-67.

LAST MEETING AGAINST CHEYNEY ...
Bloomsburg had five players in double figures as the Huskies took care of the Wolves, 104-63, at the Nelson Field House on January 3. Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) led the way with 22 points while Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant, Pa./Mid-Valley) poured in a career-high tying 19 points, which included a career-best six three-pointers (in seven attempts). Kyle-Michael Rose (Middletown, Del./Sanford School (Highland CC)) (16), Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) (14), and Yahmir Greenlee (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) (12) also hit double digits for the Huskies, who reached 100 points in a game for the first time since a 100-84 win over Penn State Lehigh Valley on December 1, 2014. McGirt added 11 rebounds for a double-double. Zahir Stewart led Cheyney with 13 points while Khaalis Carter added 11 points in the loss. Bloomsburg scored 50 points in the first half and 54 in the second while shooting 33-of-58 (56.9%) from the field.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES ...
Cheyney comes into the contest with a 2-16 overall record and a 2-12 mark in the PSAC Eastern Division. In their last game on Wednesday night, the Wolves suffered a 97-67 loss at Millersville. Cheyney's last victory came on January 18 - a 63-59 win over visiting Seton Hill. Cheyney is 17th in the PSAC in scoring offense (66.9) and is dead last in the conference in points allowed (89.6). The team has allowed at least 90 points in a game 10 times and has given up triple digits on four occasions. Cheyney is -22.7 in scoring margin, -3.2 in rebounding margin, and -4.7 in turnover margin through 18 games. Rafiq Marshall leads the Wolves in scoring as he averages 12.3 points per game. He also leads the team in three-pointers (22), assists (3.7), and steals (1.8) while ranking second on the squad in rebounding (4.3). He is the only player averaging in double figures this season. Zahir Stewart is next, chipping in 8.2 points per game. Stewart is second on the team in three-pointers with 21. Amir Boney (7.5 points) leads the team in rebounding (4.7) and in blocked shots (11). Basir Fulmore (7.3 ppg) and Khaalis Carter (7.0) also average at least seven points per game for the Wolves.

McGIRT HEATING UP ...
Junior Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) provided the Huskies with a spark coming off the bench after being removed from the starting lineup against Felician on December 18. He has, however, returned to the starting five for the last three contests. In his first eight games, McGirt averaged 8.8 points and 6.5 rebounds but, in his last ten games (seven in a reserve role), McGirt is averaging 16.0 points and 7.6 rebounds. He has hit double figures in his last ten games including a career-high 26 points in the loss at Shippensburg on January 6.

LATEST MEMBER OF THE 1,000-POINT CLUB ...
On Saturday, December 3, redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) became the latest member of Bloomsburg University's 1,000-point club when he hit a pair of second-half free throws during the Huskies' 74-68 loss at Mercyhurst. All told, 29 players have hit the milestone in Bloomsburg's history with Mike Ellzy leading the way with 1,911 career points (1993-97). Mortellite now has 1,289 points in his Huskies' career - 14th on the school's all-time list. He needs 10 points to tie Lorenzo Christmas (2010-14) for 13th place. Mortellite is just 74 points away from cracking the top ten.

CLIMBING ANOTHER LIST ...
Mortellite is also climbing the school's all-time list for career three-pointers. He owns sole possession of fifth on the school's all-time list after he surpassed Aaron Carter and Mike Cheatle with four triples in the win over Lincoln on November 15. Mortellite now has 190 for his career. Next in his sights is Jay DeShields who knocked down 205 triples from 1998-2002. His 73 three-pointers is already the third-highest single-season total in school history. DeShields holds the record with 82 during the 2001-02 season. Meanwhile, junior Alex Prislupsky (Olyphant, Pa./Mid-Valley) has hit 84 career triples and is 15 away from cracking the top ten.

NOT FOUL AT THE LINE ...
Bloomsburg has been impressive from the charity stripe this season as it ranks third in the PSAC, and 13th in the country, in free-throw percentage (77.5%). Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) (89.0%) and senior Donell Diggs (Washington, D.C./Takoma Academy (Prince George's CC)) (87.9%) are second and third in the league, respectively, in accuracy. Junior Carnell McGirt (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (Valley Forge Military Academy)) (80.0%) is 15th. The Huskies have also made a living at the line as they have made more trips to the stripe than their opponent in 13 of the 18 games (tied in two) and have scored more points from the line in 15 of the 18 contests (tied in one). Bloomsburg is +86 from the free-throw line this season.

DOWNTOWN WITH THE HUSKIES ...
The Huskies have made at least one three-pointer in 172 consecutive games. The last time Bloomsburg did not make a three in a game was on December 4, 2010 in a 54-51 loss at Lock Haven when it went 0-7 from beyond the arc. Bloomsburg has made at least ten three-pointers in a game six times this season after achieving that feat just one time last season - an 85-59 home victory against Millersville on February 17, 2016 (10-of-17). Mortellite is second in the PSAC in three-point percentage (45.1%), first in the PSAC (second in the country) in three-pointers per game (4.1), and tops in the PSAC (sixth in the country) in total three-pointers (73). Only Angelo State's Quay King (4.18) averages more three-pointers per game in the country.

MORTELLITE NAMED CLAIMS PSAC EAST HONORS ...
Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week on January 17 after leading the Huskies to a 3-0 week. He averaged 23.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in the three Bloomsburg wins a week ago. All told, 39 of Mortellite's 71 points came in the second half - Bloomsburg trailed Mansfield and Millersville by double digits in the second half before rallying. He was named PSAC East Co-Athlete of the Week on November 28.

UP NEXT ...
Bloomsburg will return to the Nelson Field House on Wednesday, February 1, to host West Chester University at 7:30 p.m. The Huskies defeated the Golden Rams, on the road, by an 88-73 final on December 30. West Chester leads the all-time series, 66-65.
