COMPLETE RESULTS
CARLISLE, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's swimming team won its third consecutive dual on Saturday afternoon with a 106-89 victory at Dickinson College. The Huskies improved to 3-2 on the season while the Red Devils dropped to 3-2 on the year and saw their three-meet winning streak come to an end.
Sophomore
Doug Boehme (Blue Bell, Pa./Buxmont Christian Academy) won a pair of individual events to pace the Huskies on Saturday afternoon while seniors
Paul Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and
Sam Feiser (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) also posted two victories - one relay and one individual. Other individual winners on Saturday were senior
Josh Grzech (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) and sophomores
Jordan Wyant (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and
Colin Bauer (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts). Redshirt sophomore
Nathan Mihalko (Windber, Pa./Richland) and sophomore
Lucas Haywood (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) joined Rocchi and Feiser as part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team.
Bloomsburg posted 11 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) marks on the afternoon.
The Huskies opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay as Bloomsburg "B" team won the event with a time of 1:39.61. Mihalko opened and gave the Huskies a slim lead after the opening 50 yards. Rocchi kept the lead intact, Feiser extended the lead in the butterfly, and Haywood anchored to bring home the victory. Noah Cancro (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford), junior
Matthew Schulz (Norristown, Pa./Methacton), and Wyant finished third with a time of 1:40.62 in the closely-contested opening race of the meet.
Haywood posted a strong swim in the 1000-yard freestyle to open the individual events. The sophomore touched the wall in 11:03.62 to finish second in the race. Boehme followed with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.60 to give the Huskies their first individual win of the day.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Wyant and freshman
Collin Hummel (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) finished 1-2 as Wyant was able to out-touch his teammate to claim the victory. Wyant clocked in with a time of 22.07 while Hummel touched in 22.35. Two events later,
Paul Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Cancro finished 1-2 in the 400-yard individual medley. Rocchi finished in 4:31.64 while Cancro touched the wall in 4:35.31.
Feiser claimed his individual win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.78 and was the only swimmer with a sub-two-minute time in the race. Finias (2:01.25) and Wyant (2:04.84) placed second and third. Boehme followed with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle (49.05) as he defeated senior teammate
Alex McCullough (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) (49.09) by four-hundredths of a second. Grzech then won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.46 and Bauer ended the day with a win in the 500-yard freestyle after touching the all in 4:59.70.
The Huskies will travel to Akron, Ohio to compete in the three-day Zippy Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron, from Friday, December 1 through Sunday, December 3.
