STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University baseball team will be in action on Tuesday, March 14, and Wednesday, March 15, as it heads to Lincoln Memorial University for a pair of nine-inning games. The Huskies are 9-6 overall and are coming off a 2-1 weekend at Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina. Meanwhile, the Railsplitters enter with a 12-12 overall record and swept a three-game series against Lenoir-Rhyne over the weekend.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Lincoln Memorial has won all five previous meetings between the two schools in the all-time series.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the two-game series with a 9-6 overall record. The Huskies won two of three meetings at Brevard College over the weekend - splitting a doubleheader on Saturday (W 13-3, L 5-8) before earning the series win on Sunday with a 7-2 victory over the Tornados. Bloomsburg is receiving votes in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region poll released on Monday afternoon.

Offensively, the Huskies come in a with a .295 batting average as a team. Redshirt senior Ryuta Amaike (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) continues to lead the team in hitting with a .448 batting average (26-of-58). He is currently on an eight-game hitting streak and was 5-for-10 with two walks and two runs batted in against Brevard over the weekend. Amaike leads the team in on-base percentage (.515) and ranks second in doubles (7), runs batted in (16), and slugging percentage (.672). Junior Tyler Benson (Montville, N.J./Montville Township) has also had a sensational start to the season as he is currently on a 12-game hitting streak and ranks second on the team with a .417 batting average (25-of-60). He leads the squad in runs scored (22), doubles (10), home runs (4), runs batted in (17), and slugging percentage (.783). The junior is also tied for the team lead in stolen bases with five. His 22 runs scored and his 10 doubles are also tops in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Senior Damin Muth (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) (.322) and redshirt junior Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) (.310) also bring batting averages north of .300 into the two-game series. Muth is second on the team with three home runs and tied for second in RBI with 16 while Edgette is tied with Benson with five stolen bases.

On the mound, Bloomsburg sports a team earned run average of 5.65 which ranks 11th in the PSAC. Redshirt junior Zach Meyer (Muncy Valley, Pa./Sullivan County), who bounced back with seven strong innings on Sunday against Brevard, leads the Huskies' starters with a 5.14 ERA and a 2-1 record. Junior Mike Warren (Garnerville, N.Y./St. Joseph Regional) is second among starters with a 5.30 earned run average and is second on the team with 19 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. Sophomore Ashton Raines (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) leads the squad with 24 punchouts in 22 innings of work. Out of the bullpen, freshman Brett Alaimo (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) has been the go-to guy early in the season. He has appeared in four games and leads the team with a 0.93 earned run average in 9.2 innings. He has two of the team's three saves and has allowed only four hits while striking out 10 in his outings. Amaike has also seen time on the mound and is 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA in two appearances (one start).

SCOUTING LINCOLN MEMORIAL
The Railsplitters are 12-12 overall and 6-3 in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). Lincoln Memorial bats .291 as a team and is led by Seth Hunt who has 20 hits in 50 at bats (.400) this season. Logan Augustine is second on the team with a .360 batting average (31-of-86) and leads the team, or is tied for the team lead, in runs scored (33), doubles (8), home runs (6), runs batted in (24), slugging percentage (.686), and stolen bases (9). Mason Ewers (.337), Russell Clark (.325), and Timmy Wages (.300) are also at .300 or better through 24 games this season. Wages leads the team with a .510 on-base percentage as he has walked 17 times and has been hit by a pitch on 14 occasions. On the mound, Lincoln Memorial has a team ERA of 5.29 but are allowing opponents to hit .302 on the year. Ethan Elliott and Brandon Jean have each made six starts this season to lead the team. Elliott is 2-2 with a 4.72 ERA and a team-leading 32 strikeouts in 34.2 innings. Jean is 2-3 with a 5.06 ERA. Out of the pen, Dominic Morabito has appeared in nine games (two starts) and is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA. Morabito has struck out 30 batters in 24.2 innings this season.

UP NEXT
The Huskies will be off until Friday, March 24 when they open up conference action at Shippensburg University for a twinbill. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The teams will meet at Danny Litwhiler Field on Saturday, March 25, also for a doubleheader, in the Huskies' home opener. First pitch on Saturday is also scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
