THOMASVILLE, N.C. – The Bloomsburg University baseball team is back in action for three games this weekend, versus St. Thomas Aquinas, Seton Hill and Le Moyne. The Huskies head to North Carolina with a record of 5-4, and have won three of their last five contests.

LAST TIME OUT …
Bloomsburg went 3-2 at the Builder Invitational, hosted by the Apprentice School, in Newport News, Va. The Huskies won their first two games against the Apprentice School (W, 6-1) and versus the College of St. Joseph (VT.) (W, 7-3). Bloomsburg would then fall to IUP (L, 7-0), before winning a slugfest against Kutztown, 17-11. The Maroon and Gold would wrap another slugfest against the Golden Bears, but would be edged out, 16-15.

SEASON NOTABLES SO FAR …
Ryuta Amaike (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) is leading Bloomsburg with a .441 batting average and 15 hits so far this season. Meanwhile, Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) is hitting .333 to go along with a team-leading two home runs and two triples. Tyler Benson (Montville, N.J./Montville Township) leads the Huskies with 35 runs scored and with six doubles, while hitting .400 for the year.
In 12 innings, redshirt junior Zach Meyer (Muncy Valley, Pa./Sullivan County) has allowed seven earned runs on 13 hits and five walks this season. Meyer has also recorded five strikeouts. In 10 innings, sophomore Trey Hinkle (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) has walked three, struck out six, and allowed six earned runs. Amaike has started a game and made a relief appearance, striking out seven and walking three in six innings.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS
Senior outfielder Michael Morgan leads the team offensively, collecting three hits – a double and two home runs – in eight plate appearances. Sophomore catcher Cris Ruiz and junior outfielder Giovanni Dingcong both have one home run apiece.

Pitchers, Anthony Morris and Chris Cepeda, have wins on their records. Morris has yet to allow a run in five innings pitched, while Cepeda has nine strikeouts in six innings.

SCOUTING SETON HILL
On offense, junior Tom McCarthy has seven hits, a home run and three RBI in 11 plate appearances. The other Griffin to hit the long ball junior Ryan Wardropper, who has three hits in five at-bats. Junior outfielder Mark Colella has five hits, three doubles and seven RBI in 12 plate appearances.
On the hill, redshirt sophomore Josh Keefe has allowed two earned runs in 4.1 innings, striking out eight. Redshirt junior Joe Shaffer follows with four strikeouts in four innings.

SCOUTING LE MOYNE
At the plate, sophomore Nick Place has recorded 11 hits, five doubles, a home run and five RBI in 24 plate appearances. Sophomore Camillo Spinoso has 12 hits, three doubles, and six RBI in 29 trips to the plate. Redshirt sophomore Ben Walsh and sophomore Josiah Gray are the other players who have a long ball to their name so far this season.
 
Sophomore Sam Walsh has allowed one earned run in 10.2 innings, giving up seven hits, seven walks and tallying six strikeouts. Graduate student, Sean Pisik, leads the team with 15 strikeouts in 13 innings, allowing two earned runs on 10 hits and six walks. Gray has three saves, allowing a hit and picking up four strikeouts.
