The Huskies and the Golden Rams will play a four-game series this weekend beginning on Friday in West Chester. The Golden Rams lead the PSAC Eastern Division with a 13-3 conference mark while the Huskies are fifth in the division with a 7-8-1 league record. Saturday's doubleheader at Bloomsburg will serve as a "Huskies Don't Harm" event to help "strike out" sexual assault.
ALL-TIME SERIES
West Chester leads the all-time series, 59-30. Last season, the Golden Rams won all four meetings between the two schools.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the weekend series with a .306 team batting average, good for ninth in the PSAC. The Huskies are second in the league with 40 home runs (Shippensburg, 42) and lead the league in runs scored (276). Junior
Tyler Benson (Montville, N.J./Montville Township) is having a sensational season at the plate as he leads the Huskies with a .394 batting average (52-of-132), which puts him in a tie for 11th place in the conference. He currently leads the league in runs scored (44) and is second in the conference in hits (52), doubles (16), and total bases (88). He is tied for 11th - with senior
Damin Muth (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland), sophomore
Ryan Shiffer (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South), and freshman
Cole Swiger (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) - in home runs with six. Benson is also in the top ten in the league in slugging percentage (.667) and on-base percentage (.503). Shiffer, meanwhile, is the reigning PSAC East Player of the Week and is second on the team with a .331 batting average (42-of-127). He is hitting .436 with five home runs and 18 runs batted in over the last ten games. Redshirt junior
Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) is hitting .329 (47-of-143) with 13 doubles, two triples, and two home runs while redshirt senior
Ryuta Amaike (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) comes in with a .328 average (40-of-122) with five home runs and 28 runs batted in. Muth, meanwhile, is coming off of a doubleheader at Slippery Rock on Tuesday that saw him go 4-for-9 with two home runs and nine runs batted in.
