STORYLINE
The 15th-ranked Bloomsburg University women's soccer team puts a seven-game winning streak and an eight-game unbeaten streak on the line Saturday afternoon when it heads to Johnstown to play against a vastly-improved Pitt-Johnstown team. The Huskies are currently in second place in the PSAC standings and have already clinched a spot in the postseason while the Mountain Cats are 5-10 overall and 4-9 in league play. Pitt-Johnstown has been eliminated from the playoffs. NOTE: The game will be played at Point Stadium in downtown Johnstown and not on Pitt-Johnstown's campus.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg is a perfect 6-0 lifetime against Pitt-Johnstown in the all-time series. Last season, the Huskies posted a 4-1 win over the Mountain Cats at Steph Pettit Stadium. Rachel Yenney (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area), Jessica Supp (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge), and Erin Bielski (York, Pa./Century (Md.)) all scored for Bloomsburg, which outshot Pitt-Johnstown, 28-4, in the contest.

IN THE RANKINGS
The Huskies climbed eight spots and are now ranked 15th in the country according to the newest United Soccer Coaches Division II national poll released on Tuesday afternoon. Bloomsburg also climbed another spot in the Atlantic Regional poll and is now ranked second in the region also revealed by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday. Bloomsburg was last in the Division II national poll on September 28, 2010 when it was ranked 13th in the country. That season also marked the last time the Huskies advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs. The Huskies are also ranked second in the Atlantic Region according to the initial NCAA regional poll released on Wednesday.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg has won seven straight and is unbeaten in its last eight (7-0-1) as it comes in with an 11-2-1 overall record and a 10-2-1 in league play. On Wednesday night, the Huskies posted a 1-0 win over Goldey-Beacom in the lone non-conference match of the season. Sophomore Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored on a penalty kick with under 19 minutes left in regulation to provide the only offense. Sophomore Olivia Schantz (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) started in goal and recorded the shutout in her first collegiate start. Last weekend, sophomore Mackenzie Gebhardt (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) posted both game-winning goals in the 1-0 victories over Seton Hill and East Stroudsburg. Gebhardt scored just 91 seconds in last Friday against the Griffins and then scored with 4:29 left in regulation last Sunday at East Stroudsburg. The goals were the first two game-winners of her collegiate career. Redshirt sophomore Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) totaled seven saves in the two games (six against Seton Hill) to record her PSAC-leading eighth and ninth shutouts of the season. Her nine shutouts on the year are tied for third-most in a single season in program history. Heather Hartman holds the record with 12 during the 2001 season while Tracy Wirth posted 10 during the 1998 campaign. She has allowed only one goal in the last 641:06 of action as she lowered her goals against average to 0.38 while increasing her save percentage to .857 on the year. Balanced scoring has been the theme for the Huskies on the offensive end this season. A total of 16 different players have registered at least one point with 13 of those players scoring at least one goal on the year. Senior Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) leads the team with four goals and four assists for 12 points. She has 20 career assists which has moved her into a tie for fourth on the school's all-time list with Patricia Cobane (1992-95). Barber also leads the team with three game-winning goals which puts her in a tie for sixth in the conference in that department. Gebhardt (four goals) and Holmes (three goals, two assists) are tied for second on the team with eight points. Sophomore Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) is next with one goal and a team-high five assists for seven points. She is tied for fifth in the conference in assists. Defensively, the Huskies have allowed only five goals in 14 contests this season - second fewest in the PSAC behind Kutztown which has given up four. Bloomsburg has allowed a PSAC-low 41 shots on goal this season and has conceded only 83 shot attempts all year. Hawkins has played all but 101 minutes in goal for the Huskies this season. She leads the conference in shutouts with nine, is second in goals against average, and is third in save percentage.

SCOUTING PITT-JOHNSTOWN
After going a combined 3-83-3 in the last five years, the Mountain Cats are 5-10 overall and 4-9 in league play in 2018 with seven of their ten losses coming by one goal. Pitt-Johnstown is coming off of a 3-0 win over Alderson-Broaddus on Tuesday, October 16, with two goals coming off the foot of Abby LaDuke. Maddie Ivory scored the other goal for the Mountain Cats, who got six saves from Maria Mosquerain her first start of the season. LaDuke leads the team in scoring with four goals and five assists for 13 points. Emily Esser has four goals for eight points while Kyra Watkins has a goal and five assists for seven points. LaDuke and Watkins are tied for sixth in the PSAC in assists. Leigh Appolonia has been the main goalkeeper as she has started 13 matches. She holds a 4-9 overall record with a 1.54 goals against average and an .828 save percentage. She is tenth in the league in save percentage and ranks third in saves per game (6.69).

UP NEXT
Bloomsburg heads to eighth-ranked Kutztown (13-2-0, 11-2-0 PSAC) for a potential battle for first-place in the league standings on Wednesday, October 24.
