STORYLINE
The 10th-ranked Bloomsburg University women's soccer team puts an 11-match unbeaten streak (9-0-2) on the line when it hosts Slippery Rock University in a PSAC Quarterfinal match at Steph Pettit Stadium. With a victory, the regular-season champion Huskies would host the PSAC Championship beginning with the semifinal round on Friday, November 2. Slippery Rock, meanwhile, has won five straight since a 3-1 loss at Bloomsburg back on October 6. Slippery Rock, the eighth-seed, will be on the road for the duration of its tournament run.

The Huskies have not advanced past the quarterfinal round since the new conference tournament format was introduced in 2010 but this will be the program's fourth straight postseason appearance. Since the new format began in 2010, an eight seed has never defeated a one seed in the opening round. Slippery Rock, meanwhile, is making its tenth straight tournament appearance.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Slippery Rock leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 14-12-2. On October 6, the Huskies defeated The Rock, 3-1, at Steph Pettit Stadium during Homecoming Weekend. Sophomore Christina Podpora (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia), freshman Nicole Varano (Paxinos, Pa./Mt. Carmel), and sophomore Mackenzie Gebhardt (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored for Bloomsburg while Slippery Rock got its only goal from Skye Kramer. The Huskies outshot The Rock, 16-3, and had three corner kicks to Slippery Rock's one. Kramer's goal is the only goal Bloomsburg has allowed during its 11-game unbeaten streak.

The last time the teams met in the postseason was in 2010 with Slippery Rock defeating Bloomsburg, 2-1.

IN THE RANKINGS
According to the polls released last week, the Huskies climbed five spots and is now ranked 10th in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Division II national poll released on Tuesday afternoon. Bloomsburg also claimed the top spot in the Atlantic Region, also revealed by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday. Bloomsburg was last in the Division II national poll on September 28, 2010 when it was ranked 13th in the country. That season also marked the last time the Huskies advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs. In the NCAA Division II regional rankings released on Wednesday, the Huskies were, again, voted as the top team in the Atlantic Region. Slippery Rock, meanwhile, was fifth in the latest NCAA Division II regional rankings.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
For the first time since 2000, the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team claimed the PSAC regular season crown after its 1-0 victory over Edinboro on Saturday evening couple with Millersville's 4-0 loss at Gannon on the final day of the regular season. Senior Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scored the lone goal for the Huskies in the win - her fourth of the season and third game-winning tally of the year. The Huskies extended their unbeaten streak to 11 consecutive matches (9-0-2) dating back to a 2-0 loss to Gannon on September 15. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) tied the school record for most shutouts in a single season as she recorded her PSAC-leading 12th of the year on Saturday. The record was previously solely held by Heather Hartman during the 2001 season. The blanking was Bloomsburg's sixth consecutive shutout and 14th shutout in 17 contests this season. Hawkins has allowed only one goal in her last 931:06 of action and, in fact, the Huskies have allowed only one goal during their 11-game unbeaten streak. As a team, Bloomsburg has conceded only five goals all season - fewest in the PSAC. Balanced scoring has been the theme for the Huskies on the offensive end this season. A total of 17 different players have registered at least one point with 14 of those players scoring at least one goal on the year. Sophomore Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) and senior Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) lead the team with 12 points apiece. Barber has four goals and four assists and now has 20 career assists which has moved her into a tie for fourth on the school's all-time list with Patricia Cobane (1992-95). Barber is also tied with Sneidman for the team-lead in game-winning goals with three. Hoelke has two goals and a team-high eight assists on the year. Her eight helpers are second in the PSAC this season. Holmes has also reached double figures with four goals and two assists for ten points while Sneidman has four goals and one assist for nine points. Gebhardt has chipped in with four goals for eight points. Bloomsburg is outscoring its opponents, 29-5, this season as it leads the PSAC in fewest goals allowed (5) and scoring margin (+1.42). Bloomsburg has also allowed a PSAC-low 48 shots on goal this season and has conceded only 101 shot attempts all year. Hawkins leads the conference in shutouts (12) and goals against average (0.31) while ranking second in the league in save percentage (.881).

In its last contest on Saturday, Slippery Rock defeated Shippensburg, 1-0, on a goal by Jordyn Minda in the sixth minute. Slippery Rock is outscoring its opponents, 27-13, this season. Brooke Testa leads the team in scoring with five goals and six assists for 16 points while Minda has six goals and two assists for 14 points. Minda also leads the team with four game-winning goals. UP NEXT
