STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team, fresh off of its season-opening win on Saturday, heads on the road for the first time as it travels to Holy Family University for a non-conference contest against the Tigers. Holy Family is 1-1 on the year but has not played since November 11.
Â
ALL-TIME SERIES
The teams have split two previous meetings in the all-time series. Last season, the Huskies posted an 86-67 victory over Holy Family at the Nelson Field House. The Bloomsburg players finished in double figures led by
Christian Mortellite (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) and
Hashim Moore (Sunrise, Fla./Hun School) who each had 19 points in the victory.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg was picked to finish sixth in the PSAC Eastern Division according to the preseason coaches poll released late last month. Bloomsburg opened the season with an exciting 80-79 overtime victory over Georgian Court on Saturday at the Nelson Field House. Junior
Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) poured in a career-high 28 points - 21 of which came in the second half and overtime - to pace the Huskies offensively. The junior point guard also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists in a team-high 38 minutes. Freshman
Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) had a solid debut for the Huskies as he also finished in double figures after scoring ten points and grabbing four rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench. Sophomore
Nicholas King (Easton, Pa./Freedom) and
Ethan Houston (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) chipped in with nine points apiece while redshirt senior
Darius Robinson-Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley Charter) had eight points and a team-high eight rebounds in the victory. For his efforts, Mauras was named the PSAC Eastern Division Athlete of the Week. Bloomsburg trailed by two, 67-65, with 34 seconds left in regulation before Mauras drove to the basket and completed an old-fashioned three-point play to give the Huskies a 68-67 advantage. Then, in overtime, Mauras hit his only three-pointer of the game to give Bloomsburg a 74-71 lead - a lead that it would not relinquish. Later in the extra session, he hit a pair of foul shots with 18 seconds left in overtime to put the Huskies back up by three. His seven first-half points came during a 15-2 run that helped erase an early 10-point deficit and gave Bloomsburg a 31-28 lead at the break.
SCOUTING HOLY FAMILY
Holy Family lost its season opener at Merrimack on November 10 before bouncing back for a 75-73 overtime win over American International the following afternoon. Dymir Montague leads the Tigers in scoring at 16.0 points per game while Patrick Robinson averaged 15.0 points over the first two games of the year. Vincenzo Dalessandro is also in double digits after posting 27 total points in the first two contests (13.5 ppg). Dalessandro also pulled down 21 rebounds as he leads the team in that category. He had 12 points and 13 rebounds in the win over American International. Holy Family out-rebounded its first two opponents, 89-84, but committed 30 turnovers in the first two games and shot just 37.6% from the field.
UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will be at Division I St. Francis University on Tuesday, November 27, before returning home to host Felician on Wednesday, November 28. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
