SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg was picked to finish sixth in the PSAC Eastern Division according to the preseason coaches poll released in late October. The Huskies opened the season with an 80-79 overtime victory over Georgian Court on November 17 at the Nelson Field House but suffered their first loss of the season last Tuesday with an 82-71 setback at Holy Family. Junior
Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) scored a career-high 28 points in the victory over the Lions and was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week for his efforts in the win. He followed up that performance with 20 points and nine rebounds against the Tigers on Tuesday. Through two games, Mauras is averaging 24.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while also leading the team with five steals. Mauras is third in the PSAC in scoring average. Freshman
Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) has made an immediate impact as he has reached double figures in each of his first two games despite coming off the bench. He is averaging 11.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field. Sophomore
Nicholas King (Easton, Pa./Freedom) is also averaging double figures as he has chipped in 11.0 points per game with a season-high of 13 at Holy Family. Redshirt junior
Sam Saxton (York, Pa./Central York) adds 8.5 points per contest. In the rebounding department, redshirt senior
Darius Robinson-Wallace (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley Charter) leads the Huskies at 8.5 boards per game. Bloomsburg is averaging 77.5 points per game on offense while allowing 80.5 points per game defensively. The Huskies are +8.0 in rebounding margin but are shooting just 26-of-51 (51.0%) from the foul line.
SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS
The Red Flash are 1-4 on the season and are coming off of back-to-back road losses against ACC powers North Carolina, 101-76, and Virginia Tech, 75-37, on November 19 and November 24, respectively. Saint Francis' 37 points on Saturday were its fewest since scoring 37 at Cincinnati on November 14, 2014. The Red Flash shot 25.9% from the field in the loss, its lowest field goal percentage in a game since shooting 25.0% at Wagner on February 27, 2014. Saint Francis hasn't shot 40% or higher from the field in a game this season after doing so in 26 of 31 contests last season. Jamaal King and Keith Braxton pace the Red Flash in scoring at 13.4 points per game. Braxton also leads the team in rebounding (9.4 rpg), assists (11), and steals (11). Myles Thompson (10.6 ppg) and Andre Wolford (10.0 ppg) also average in double figures for Saint Francis. The Red Flash are averaging only 63.6 points per game offensively and are shooting only 33.3% from the field. Opponents, meanwhile, average 83.0 points per game while shooting 47.4% from the floor.
SCOUTING FELICIAN
The Golden Falcons are 1-3 to start the season and are coming off of a 97-91 loss at Adelphi on Sunday afternoon. Felician has played one other PSAC East team as it dropped a 109-85 decision at home to East Stroudsburg on November 20. The Golden Falcons average 78.0 points per game and are led in scoring by Zamir Wright who posts 17.0 points per contest. Wright also leads the team in steals with seven and is second on the team with 12 assists. Aziz Parker has missed the last three games after playing the season opener when he scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 80-76 win over Mercy. Rachid Shimou is averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds while Rahsaan Williams averages a double-double at 12.3 points and 11.8 rebounds per contest.
