BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's swimming team returns to the Nelson Field House Pool on Friday evening as it will host Clarion University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) meet. Action is scheduled to get underway at 5:00 p.m. The Huskies have won three straight duals after a season-opening loss to West Chester back on October 26. Last weekend, Bloomsburg won a pair of meets on the road at Edinboro on Friday and at Gannon on Saturday.
Bloomsburg posted a 126-74 victory at Edinboro last Friday as the team had eight different swimmers post at least one individual, or one relay, victory on the night while the team posted 18 PSAC qualifying marks. Redshirt junior
Kyle Dix (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.73), the 100-yard butterfly (51.65), and swam the first leg in the Huskies' 200-yard freestyle relay team that won the final event of the night (1:27.19). Junior
Doug Boehme (Blue Bell, Pa./Buxmont Christian Academy), freshman
Colton Schnars (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte), junior
Corey Smith (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), and redshirt sophomore
Matt Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) each posted single individual wins on the night while junior
Colin Bauer (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), sophomore
Collin Hummel (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg), and junior
Jordan Wyant (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) joined Dix for the win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Then, on Saturday, the Huskies held off the Golden Knights, 144-117. Bloomsburg had 28 PSAC marks on the afternoon as Rocchi led the Huskies with a pair of individual victories and was also part of the winning 400-yard medley relay team. Schnars earned an individual victory and was also part of the 400-yard medley relay team that captured first. Senior
Philip Nawn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) had the only other individual victory of the day.
The Golden Eagles enter the meet with an 0-2 record on the season. Clarion opened the dual season with a loss at Gannon, 161-80, on October 19 and then suffered a 110-83 setback at Shippensburg on November 2.
Following Friday's meet against Clarion, the Huskies will return home on Saturday, November 17, to host Dickinson College at the Nelson Field House Pool. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
