COMPLETE RESULTS
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's swimming team powered past visiting Clarion University on Friday evening, 145-58, as the Huskies posted their fourth consecutive victory to improve to 4-1 on the season. The Golden Eagles dropped to 0-3 on the year.
The Huskies had nine different swimmers post at least one victory on the night while the team totaled 14 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) marks during the meet. Redshirt junior
Kyle Dix (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) collected three wins on the night - one individual and two relays - to pace the Huskies in victories. Junior
Doug Boehme (Blue Bell, Pa./Buxmont Christian Academy) had two individual wins while freshman
Jace Fry (Palmyra, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and redshirt sophomore
Matt Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) had one individual and one relay victory apiece. Freshman
Colton Schnars (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) was on both relay-winning teams.
Schnars, Rocchi, Fry, and Dix teamed up for a victory in the 200-yard medley relay to start the evening as the group touched the wall in 1:37.03 - two-and-a-half seconds faster than the Huskies "B" team of junior
Corey Smith (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), sophomore
Noah Cancro (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford), sophomore
Collin Hummel (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg), and freshman
Pat Agnew (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove).
Boehme collected the first individual win of the night as he paced the field in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:13.50 while junior
Colin Bauer (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was second with a time of 10:30.61. Dix then earned his first win of the night in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21 seconds flat. He tied his season-best and the conference's season-best time with the showing on Friday night. Cancro followed with a victory in the 400-yard individual medley after touching the wall in 4:29.54.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Fry won for the second time on the evening with a PSAC mark of 2:01.73 - four seconds faster than junior teammate
Jordan Wyant (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) who was second. Senior
Matthew Schulz (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) finished third with a time of 2:07.32 - seven seconds better than his previous season-best time. Smith followed with the PSAC's best time in the 200-yard backstroke as he edged Schnars with a time of 1:57.32, chopping nearly two seconds off of his previous best mark. Schnars finished with a time of 1:58.96. Boehme then posted his second win of the night in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:59.72 while Rocchi closed out the individual events with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke as he touched the wall in 2:16.33.
The Huskies closed out the night with the quartet of Bauer, Wyant, Schnars, and Dix teaming up for a time of 3:11.10 in the 400-yard freestyle relay - six seconds faster than the rest of the field and the second-best time in the conference this season.
Bloomsburg will return home on Saturday, November 17, to host Dickinson College at the Nelson Field House Pool. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
