COMPLETE RESULTS
INDIANA, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's swimming team concluded the 2017-18 regular season on Saturday with a 1136-743 victory over Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational.
Sam Feiser (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) paced Bloomsburg with six victories during the meet. He won a pair of individual events and was a part of four relay-winning teams.
Jordan Wyant (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) followed closely with five wins - one individual and four relays - while
Josh Grzech (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) was part of four relay-winning teams.
Paul Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) won an individual event and two relays and
Collin Hummel (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) posted one individual win and one relay victory.
Other individual winners on Saturday were
Doug Boehme (Blue Bell, Pa./Buxmont Christian Academy),
Alex McCullough (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), and
Lucas Haywood (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) while
Colin Bauer (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was part of a relay win.
Grzech, Rocchi, Feiser, and Wyant started the meet with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay, combining for a time of 3:32.65 to win by just over three seconds over IUP's "A" foursome.
Boehme gave the Huskies their first individual victory of the day with a win in the 500-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 4:55.43. Wyant followed with a win in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a time of 57.51. Feiser then posted his first individual win of the day with a time of 1:57.71 in the 200-yard butterfly.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Hummel posted his lone individual win with a time of 21.98 - out-touching Grzech by two-tenths of a second.
The next series of relay events began with Wyant, Grzech, Hummel, and Feiser winning the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:13.51. Then, in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the foursome of Wyant, Grzech, Bauer, and Feiser won with a time of 1:25.57 - less than three seconds faster than the group of
Noah Cancro (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford), Haywood, McCullough, and Hummel.
Rocchi posted his only individual win in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:29.29. Feiser followed with a time of 50.45 in the 100-yard butterfly and McCullough then earned his victory in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:47.24.
Haywood earned his win in the 100-yard freestyle as he posted a time of 49.98 - two-and-a-half seconds faster than teammate
Tyler Reed (Hereford, Pa./Upper Perkiomen).
The final event of the day was the 200-yard medley relay where Grzech, Rocchi, Feiser, and Wyant posted a time of 1:36.30 to earn the victory.
The Huskies now have a couple of weeks to get ready for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. The conference meet gets underway on Wednesday, February 21, at 9:00 a.m. from the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pennsylvania, and will run through Saturday, February 24.
