STORYLINE
Bloomsburg, ranked second in the NCAA Atlantic Region, and Millersville, ranked fourth in the region, conclude the regular season this weekend with home-and-home doubleheaders that could determine the PSAC Eastern Division regular-season champion and that will have seeding implications for next week's PSAC tournament.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Millersville leads the all-time series over Bloomsburg, 102-80. Last season, the Marauders won all four meetings between the two schools.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Offensively, the Huskies are second in the PSAC with a .326 team batting average, trailing only Lock Haven's .331 mark. Bloomsburg currently leads the conference, and ranks third in the country, with a .433 team on-base percentage and ranks second in the league, 25th in the country, with a .498 team slugging percentage.
Austin Edgette (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) leads the PSAC, and is tied for first in the country, with a .477 average (61-of-128) and has hit safely in 34 of his 37 games played this season. Edgette also leads the team, or is tied for the team lead, in runs scored (45), hits (61), triples (2), home runs (6), total bases (96), on-base percentage (.567), slugging percentage (.750), and stolen bases (20). His .567 on-base percentage leads the conference (third in the country) while his .750 slugging percentage is second in the league (20th in the country). He is also tied for first in the conference in stolen bases.
Shane Woelfel (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah), who has not played since April 14 against Mansfield, is second on the team with a .437 average (38-of-87). He is second on the team in on-base percentage (.509) and slugging percentage (.644).
Cole Swiger (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) has posted a .371 average (56-of-151) which has him third on the team and tied for 15th in the PSAC. He leads the team in doubles (16) and is tied for the team lead with 45 runs scored. He ranks second in hits (56), total bases (86), and stolen bases (10). His 16 doubles are tied for second in the league.
Chad Cooperman (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury),
Nate Krizan (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township), and
Ben Newbert (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Harriton) also have averages above .300 on the season. Cooperman is hitting .341 (30-of-88) with one home run and 19 RBI while Newbert is batting .316 (36-of-114) with five home runs and a team-high 38 runs driven in. Krizan, since an 0-for-7 day at the plate against Slippery Rock, has 18 hits in his last 32 at bats to get his average to .317 (39-of-123) on the season. The sophomore has two home runs and 24 RBI.
On the mound, the Huskies are eighth in the PSAC with a 5.58 team earned run average. Bloomsburg is, however, fourth in the league in opponents' batting average at .266.
Nick Stoner (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) leads the Huskies' starters with a 3.18 ERA in nine appearances (eight starts). He is 5-1 and has allowed only 28 hits in 39.2 innings while striking out 36. His .190 batting average against is tenth in the conference. Cooperman is second among starters with a 3.89 ERA in eight starts while posting a 2-2 record. He has struck out 43 batters in 39.1 innings.
Ashton Raines (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) is 6-1 on the season with a 3.90 ERA in 12 appearances (nine starts). He has limited the opposition to a .243 average and has struck out a team-high 51 batters in a team-high 55.1 innings. Meanwhile,
JJ Spehrley (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) has emerged as the other weekend starter and is 6-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 12 appearances (five starts). He has 27 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. Out of the bullpen,
Trey Hinkle (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) has become a huge factor down the stretch as he is now 4-1 with five saves and a team-best 3.09 ERA in a team-high 16 appearances this season. He has struck out 19 batters in 23.1 innings and is tied for third in the conference in saves.
SCOUTING MILLERSVILLE
The Marauders are 12th in the PSAC with a .279 team batting average and only four schools have hit fewer than Millersville's 19 home runs. However, Millersville is third in the PSAC with 80 stolen bases. Kaylor Kulina is the team's best hitter with a .379 batting average (47-of-124) but only six of his 47 hits (all doubles) have gone for extra bases. Ben Snyder is next on the team with a .328 average (44-of-134). Snyder leads the team in doubles (14), runs batted in (34), walks (32), slugging percentage (.522), and on-base percentage (.463). He ranks second on the team with four home runs. Cole Friese is hitting .316 (50-of-158) with team-highs in runs scored (44), hits (50), and total bases (74). Dominic Hardaway leads the team with five home runs while Manning Brookens leads with 17 stolen bases.
Millersville has had a sensational year on the mound as the team is third in the PSAC with a 4.23 team earned run average. Eli Nabholz is the team's ace as he is 7-3 with a 2.43 ERA in 11 starts. He leads the team with 64 strikeouts in 63 innings. Nabholz has also thrown three complete-game shutouts - tops in the conference. Cordell Shannon has also had a great year as he sports a 6-2 record with a 3.19 ERA in 11 starts. He has 55 strikeouts in 59.1 innings of work. Drew Miller (2-1, 2.94 ERA) and Tyler Yankosky (4-2, 5.21 ERA) are also expected to start over the weekend. The bullpen has been good with Bobby Dorta (1-1, 1.31 ERA) and Stephen Muscovitch (0-0, 1.80 ERA) leading the charge. Five different pitchers have recorded a save with Christian Wingard posting a team-high two saves.

Bloomsburg will head to the PSAC tournament for the first time since 2014 - and for only the third time under head coach
Mike Collins - beginning next Wednesday, May 9, at Point Stadium in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The Huskies' first round opponent and game time is yet to be determined.
